(More customer reviews)I love the Plato line of products as they allow me to just mindlessly pick from the line and know that I am feeding something good to my dog(s). As for "Smart Dog Snacks" with Ginkgo Biloba and DHA...I'd better watch out, because my dogs love these treats so much that the treats just may make them smart enough to figure out how to open the "treat cabinet" take the container down and unscrew the lid to help themselves!
While the treats themselves look like beef jerky, they are made with all natural, organic ingredients. The dogs don't care what's in these treats, they just know they love them. As I am typing this they are both sitting at attention, staring at me and whimpering while trying to do the Jedi Mind Trick of "you want to give us more Smart Dog Snacks, pick up your hand from that keyboard and reach in the container and hand us more. Do it. Do it now."
There's so much junk out there and plenty of junk food that claims to be natural (just like people food) but this stuff is the real deal. Much like the food that I feed to the humans in the family, I know what each of the ingredients are and love that the first two ingredients are duck and brown rice. There aren't cost cutting fillers in these treats; it's a straight up high quality product. As an aside, I've bought from the seller, The Whole Healthy Pet many times, and I am always impressed with the products they carry. Just as I know that I can trust the Plato brand, I know that if a product is being carried by The Whole Healthy Pet, then it is a high quality product and I feel like a good parent getting it for my dogs.

We found these Happy Hips at a specialty dog store, read the label, saw that it had no by-products, no fillers, no sugar, and no BHA/BHT or added hormones, and decided to try it. She loves it! It looks like bacon and is considered a treat for her, but still has the added vitamins and supplements she needs. I would highly recommend this product (which is why I'm online trying to find more!).

They smell good like people food and not dog food. It's been a challenge to find him something soft that also seems to be healthy. We actually have to call these "H.H.s" in our house because he knows what Happy Hips are! Whether or not they make his hips happy I can't really tell but I figure it can't hurt! F.Y.I. - not all products in the Happy Hips line are soft.

(More customer reviews)I'm giving three stars because when I snapped off a piece my rat terrier/chihuahua loved it...but then, she loves everything! My spaniel/chihuahua, well, he ate it but not with any enthusiasm. Kinda played with it a bit. He's a fickle eater with a sensitive stomach. That's why I am here. PLATO DID NOT PROVIDE SERVING SIZE INFORMATION ON THE PACKAGE! Yes, they pat you on the back for taking the time to read their label. But did they read it before printing? Clearly you would give a small dog less than a large dog but how much? I don't know how rich these are and if they'll upset my little ones stomach if I give him a 1/4, 1/2 stick a couple bites? I have no clue! So I attempt to contact the manufacturer (don't even try to do it from their label because it only has a mailing address! ARGH!). This means going online to find them. After finding a phone number and email address I call. Ring...ring...ring..ring...ring...ring...no voicemail..no human! ARGH again! So I resorted to email to ask them what the serving size is. Then receive a return email that it can take up to 3 days for a reply while they make great dog treats. I believe this since they don't answer even their phones! The whole office must be chipping in! Unfortunately, I had no choice but to return them not knowing any info on serving sizes. Thankfully, my pet store will take it back even though it's opened. If you need servings, contact them first. All in all, my one dog gives them 5 stars (she's the one who loves it all!) and the other a mere 2 stars. I give it 0 for not providing the owners the information they need to treat their dog without making them sick :(

(More customer reviews)I'm so glad Amazon is selling the kitty treats now (in addition to the doggie version). I have 2 large orange tabby cats, which the vet said are genetically predisposed to hip problems. He said they could have a glucosamine supplement to help with this. I have fed a few treats daily (which they LOVE!) to both cats since they were 6 months old, and have had no hip problems so far. Cats go crazy for these treats and there are a few varieties, so they don't get bored. I also give the flaxseed and vitamin version of the treats, 1 bag to every 2 bags of the happy hips version. One bag lasts a couple of weeks, fed daily per instructions. This price is excellent, especially with the subcribe and save. Our local health food store sells these treats for $4.00 a bag. This is a great way to give a cat vitamin supplements. They willingly (and eagerly) eat them.

(More customer reviews)I have an english bulldog. Training my bully outside to not approach every dog without first being calm was often a challenge. I had tried to utilize numerous treats before with limited sucess at getting her to focus on my command. Plato's thinkers are not only made of great quality ingredients, but the smell and taste is something that most dogs find hard to resist. If you are looking for a great training treat I recommend these highly. Just break them up into small pieces either with a knife or by hand.
These treats have not only worked with her, but with her fellow friends. I constantly refer folks to get this type of treat, when they are looking for a good training treat. And all my friends who have purchased this for their dogs are happy with their purchase.
The larger 24 oz jar is the best because they last longer and the lid prevents them from air exposure which otherwise makese these treats hard.

Dogswell Mellow Mut for Dogs, Chicken Breast, Chamomile & Lavender, 5-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 6) Review

(More customer reviews)We originally bought this brand due to the claim that it uses "All Natural Cage Free Chickens" as well as the "No Hormones" and "No Antibiotics," etc. But the items were surprisingly better in quality than the package claimed. These strips are real strips of dried chicken, not just processed "meats" as some companies may use. This particular flavor became our household favorite due to the effect it has on our easliy excited black lab, Hayden.
At first I thought the ingredients were just light flavoring, since all of the packages seem to contain the exact same looking treats. But, the smell is very strong. This flavor contains chamomile and lavender - which claims to calm your dog. This claim is very true for our dog. Only after a couple of nights, we noticed a considerable difference in behavior for Hayden. Our dog usually gets wound up in the evening time and continually wants to play even right before we go to bed. After giving Hayden six strips, which is the suggested amount for his body size, he became docile and even sleepy before our bed time.
I usually don't believe the statements that most products like this claim, but I can say we have noticed a big difference. Granted the effect is short term and can't be predicted for really young dogs or "unfixed" dogs (for comparison our dog Hayden weighs 85 lbs, is 6 years old, and has been fixed).
These are the draw backs though. 1) This is an expensive way to treat large dogs EVERY DAY, so maybe not realistic for everyone. 2) The effects may only last a few hours, so overly exciteable dogs may be able to "battle through" the effects. 3) Flavor is very strong and very odd (lavender?) some pickier dogs could turn their noses up to the smell and flavor of these treats.
Just a note - Dogswell Happy Heart Chicken Breast, Flax Seed & Taurine, 3-Count 16-Ounce Bags seems to have the opposite effect on our dog. This product contains taurine - like Redbull - so maybe that's the reason. I'd recommend that Happy Heart flavored treats should be avoided late in the evening.
