California Natural Lamb Meal & Rice Dry Puppy Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We have been using this dog food for around 3 months now. Our dogs coat has never been so shiny and her poop has never stayed so consistent. For months we tried over 5 different foods and all of them she would have issues with. I am sooo glad we tried this food and have found nothing better!

Nutro Natural Choice Chk/Rice Lg Breed Adlt 35lb Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have found that different dogs respond optimally to different mixtures (kinda like people, eh?) or brands. With the Nutro, everyone seems to be happy. The ingredients look reasonable, the price is much better then most of the high end brands (with comparable ingredients, i might add :)), and the eat it all up right away factor is very high! Based upon these observations, I highly recommend that you give this brand a try!
All the best,
Jay

Acana Provincial Prairie Harvest Grain Free Dry Dog Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Acana is manufactured by a canadian company that is also a maker or orijen, but its designated for dogs who dont do well on high protein, which was a case with my dog, hes moderately active 3 year old weim, but was putting on weight on orijen, so this was a great addition to his diet. He loves the taste just the same and I've had no issues with it, glossy coat, lots of energy, no ear or eye infections. Plus I like that fact thats they use free range chickens which appeals to my ethical side, since I only buy organic and free range myself.

Merrick Before Grain #3 Buffalo Dry Dog Food, 25.3 Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had been searching an searching for a moderately priced high quality food. My 2 boxers were on Wellness Core, another excellent food, but its just a bit too pricey. I found this food a couple months ago, its about 12-15 bucks cheaper than Wellness Core and just as good. No grains in either food, no by-products. all natural healthy ingredients. I am feeding my 2 boxers a mix of Before Grain #3(buffalo) and #1(chicken). My dogs love both. They are healthy and happy. Even my soon to be 11yr old girl. Although the signs of old age are creeping up on my old girl, she is in excellent health. This is an excellent site for dog food reveiws. [...]

Wellness CORE Grain-Free Dry Dog Food, Reduced Fat Recipe, 4-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After careful research on the best dry food for my dog's diet, I chose Wellness Core Reduced Fat. My mixed breed dog is low energy and has a tendency to put weight on easily. It was very difficult to find a dog food that does not compromise quality ingredients to make a food low fat. Since my dog is low energy (by no means a sled dog), her diet does not require her to have extreme protein intake. This food is the prefect balance of protein, quality meat sources, fat content, as well as important sources of fruits and vegetables and fish oils. Her eyes are bright and coat is shiny. While she hasn't lost any weight, she hasn't gained any either, which is a good thing!
You get what you pay for when it comes to dog food. When purchasing this brand, one is paying for high quality food (meat content, veggies, fruits) without fillers or extreme levels of protein.

Also, 5 different quality animal protein sources are used - deboned turkey and with high quality (low Ash) turkey & whitefish meals and chicken liver. EVO Grain Free Turkey and Chicken Formula Dry Dog Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)In Nov/Dec of '09, Innova decided to change the ingredients in this particular line of food. No need to let your paying customers know. $400 worth of vet bills later, and a bout with pancreatitis (my dog of course), I realize it's this food that is causing the problems. They later confirmed in email that they did in fact change the ingredients; however, they did not confirm whether they would pay my vet bills.
Not to mention, they also changed their guidelines recommending this food NOT be fed to large breed puppies, whereas it was previously fine.
They tout themselves as some Natural, good for your dog, food, doubtful.
AVOID

Go Dry Dog Food, Natural Grain Free Endurance Formula, 25 Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have tried every kibble known to man on my dogs over the years, and this one is the best. I feed a primarily raw diet, but supplement with kibble. Previously Wellness Core had given me fairly good results with allergies etc, but the stools were 'greasy'. I also had them on Orijin, but had horrible sloppy stools on that. I had been searching for a grain free food that had some carbohydrates in it to reduce the protein and fat content, but has no grains. This food ticks all the boxes and then some! Great stools, shiny coats, no more 'eye goop', less hair loss, no more 'itchies'! They have been on it about a month and a half, and the difference in the three girls is absolutely amazing. Love it!

EVO Dog Food Large Bites 28.6 lbs Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This food looks and feels to be of good quality. Also highly rated by [...] ([...]) and they place it in their top tier, so I had confidence going into the purchase. It has really high quality ingredients such as turkey, chicken, turkey meal, chicken meal, potatoes, and herring meal, without fat in the first four ingredients, which apparently can lead to bloat. I've been feeding my 60 pound Weimaraner this food for about two months and the bag still isn't gone. My dog has been gaining weight over that time as well. We have fed her Timberwolf Organics and Go! Natural Grain Free Endurance Formula before this and those were great as well. With this food, we don't have to feed her as much, so this food is a very good value, cheaper overall than Timberwolf because of the reduced feeding. However with this food and unlike the others, her stools have been small, hard, and consistent, which is very nice for me.
I purchased from J-B Wholesale Pet Supplies which had very reasonable prices and shipping costs. I bought three bags and the shipping was the same, so my shipping costs were around $1.50 per bag. Two downsides were that shipping was slow and I didn't get a tracking number until I called J-B Wholesale.

Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free Surf & Turf (Duck, Salmon, Chicken) Dry Dog Food, 12-pound bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 2 Minature Schnauzers are 3yrs old and picky eaters. They were occassionaly spoiled by me adding chicken breast or turkey to their dry food. They eventually got bored of the Fromm Surf & Turf but for the first month loved to eat it. Yes, it's more expensive than the other dry foods but the ingredients used helped my prevent break-outs that one of my dogs were experiencing from allergies. I switched them to the Blue Buffalo Wilderness and it has higher protein and Omega fatty acids. The dogs enjoyed the change in food but it gave them both gas and one of them had diarrhea. I like the ingredients of the Blue Buffalo but according to my vet some owners are complaining about the same effects on their dogs because it's very rich. I'm remaining with the Fromm simply because of the quality and it's grain less so it helps my dog with allergies.

Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free Surf & Turf (Duck, Salmon, Chicken) Dry Dog Food, 26-pound bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My golden retriever puppy had weeks of stomach problems and lots of expensive and unsuccessful testing to try to determine the problem. My puppy trainer suggested I try this grain free food. I did and his problems cleared right up. It is expensive but has all natural and healthy ingredients and should actually reduce vet bills in the long run since he is such a healthy dog now. I plan to start feeding my cat Fromm food now too. She likes the smell of the salmon in the dog's food so I'll try the salmon cat food soon. This company makes quality food for pets and produces it here in the United States.

California Natural Chicken Meal & Rice Dry Adult Dog Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My dog loves this food. I love it because her allergies have cleared up, I feel like I am feeding her something healthy, and her body is digesting most of it (don't have to clean up as much). I looked at most natural foods but she is allergic to salmon, lamb and carrots. That eliminated most of the options out there. I was so glad to find this food. I am not paying much more than I was when I was feeding her PetsMart's food and I am getting so much more.

(More customer reviews)we've been feeding our french bulldog puppy this for the last 2 months since we have been shopping around for a regular food to settle on. our dog has a breed-specific sensitive stomach and in comparison with all food she ingests, she definitely needs something with red meat in the first few listings of the dog food's ingredient list. we're satisfied with the food's quality and she doesn't seem to be a picky eater, but we'll be looking more into something with red meat as one of the most prominent ingredients used.

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a great food. My new bag of Before Grain 1 arrived today(1/31/11) during my lunch hour. My 2 boxers immediately smelled something in the box they really liked! They hadnt eaten for the day yet, so they were a little hungry, but they both burried their faces into their bowls. I had given them Before Grain 3 with Buffalo that they liked too. So i got them a bag of each. I used to give them Wellness Core(which is a fantastic food as well) but its just a little too pricey. This is about $15 bucks cheaper and just as good. Although i love Amazon, i buy almost everything here, the price is best going directly to petfooddirect.com as it is about the same price except they offer free shippping on this brand currently.
