I started looking for an all life stage food when I got a kitten to befriend my year old cat. Feeding two cats seperately (kitten and cat food) is just not going to work for me. I also had to ween my cat off Science Diet (aka crack cat food). Feed the best you can afford, and the best they will eat...easier said than done.
We tried Wellness, Solid Gold, Avoderm, etc. Some they hated totally, and some didn't seem so healthy. I learned alot about cat food. Just read the ingredients! Cats are carnivores, and corn should not be in the top five ingredients...or at all.
We have tried several flavors, and
They hate Duck (looks gross too!)
They will nibble Rabbit and Chicken
Lamb they gobble up : )
(P.S. They will eat the Prarie wet foods, but not very much. Also, I feed Innova's EVO dry food.)

(More customer reviews)I have an older cat (5yrs old now) who was constantly getting crystals and urinary blockage. Expensive trips to the vet it was. 3 years ago I adopted 2 kittens. The vet said the kittens had to eat something other than what my older cat was (she was on prescription science diet-like that's not expensive). As all cat owners know, it's nearly impossible to separate them and eat their "own food". I did lots of reasearch and found Orijen. All three cats have been eating this food for 3 years. Guess what? No medical issues...At All! I've been so pleased with this food and how healthy and happy my cats are. I will never purchase anything else for my cats. You might think it may be a little expensive, but not having to take my cats to the vet is worth every penny saved.

Nature's Variety Dry Cat Food, Feline Instinct Rabbit Diet, 12.1-Pound Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I looked for a long while to find a dry kibble that my cats would enjoy and tolerate. One cannot have rice or other grains. They preferred the previous formula of Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit meal formula. I purchased a new bag and the cats wouldn't touch it and in fact were repelled by it. I looked at the ingredients and the order, and they were the same until you got to the ingrediant "Natural Chicken flavor" on the old bag. On the new bag, it said "Natural pork flavor." The individual kibble are flatter and airy and the old kibble was denser and a bit rounder. Further the old formula says "90%+ of the protein is from rabbit,salmon,chicken, herring meals." The new formula says "75% pure animal ingredients and nutriousl oils." In any case, there are some differences. I'm not sure if it is the pork flavor, the disc texture and density or even if there is a change in the ratio. THe first bag references the percentage of protein and its identity, whereas the new bage simply indicates the percentage of animal ingredients. I have some sad kitties who loved the old formula. Looking at [...] review of premium dry, it also lists other types that might also appeal to kitties.

Shiny coat, good muscle... and best of all... no more ear infections! He seems to love the taste. I would highly recommend this food to people whose dogs have allergies to grains, peas, chicken, beef, ...etc. Actually, I think it's a great food for dogs without allergies, too. My non-allergic bullmastiff is doing very well on it.

I tried Prowl, mixed with water as I want my kitty to get more fluids, and they drank it just fine. I had even tried some of the other canned high protein/no starch type foods mixed with water and they didnt want that either. Of course they loved the bad kinds of wet food. Prowl was the first "good" kind of cat food I could get them to eat.

(More customer reviews)My 2 Minature Schnauzers are 3yrs old and picky eaters. They were occassionaly spoiled by me adding chicken breast or turkey to their dry food. They eventually got bored of the Fromm Surf & Turf but for the first month loved to eat it. Yes, it's more expensive than the other dry foods but the ingredients used helped my prevent break-outs that one of my dogs were experiencing from allergies. I switched them to the Blue Buffalo Wilderness and it has higher protein and Omega fatty acids. The dogs enjoyed the change in food but it gave them both gas and one of them had diarrhea. I like the ingredients of the Blue Buffalo but according to my vet some owners are complaining about the same effects on their dogs because it's very rich. I'm remaining with the Fromm simply because of the quality and it's grain less so it helps my dog with allergies.

My oldest cat, KatKat, age 3, will sneak eat the kitten's portions. I don't think it hurts her. All three are healthy, trim, with shiny coats, abundant energy. I free-feed this food and supplement with wet food in the a.m. and p.m. (amazingly, the best wet food I've found so far Fancy Feast Gourmet Cat Food, Flaked Fish & Shrimp Feast; it has good ingredients and seems a good value for the price; I am currently waiting on a delivery of Best Feline Friend Canned Cat Food, Tuna Too Cool Recipe--will post a review when the furry ones had a chance to taste-test it).

(More customer reviews)Very good quality cat food. Made at a human food factory with human grade ingredients. The tuna used is the red meat from the skipjack tuna fish. They get a variety so this is just part of their diet as I do not want to feed them tuna based foods as their primary source of protein. Healthy and cats love this. I try to use this brand, Tiki Cat, Weurva and then for dry food Orijen cat food. My Himalayan cats are on a no grain, no gluten/filler diet. This wet food in combination with the dry has led to great coats, no hair balls, good energy and solid not too stinky poo :)

(More customer reviews)Around 6 months ago I switched my 8 and 10 year old cats from Iams Indoor Weight and Hairball food to Blue Buffalo Mature food, since they are both considered to be seniors at this age. I also fed my first cat this food, up until her kidneys lost their function and she went on the prescription food. I think this food is one of the reasons she almost made it to age 18.
This food has human-grade ingredients, such as de-boned chicken, potatoes, carrots, cranberries and blueberries. It is a natural, holistic food. Even contains green tea which is full of anti-oxidants. The manufacturer also includes LifeSource Bits in the food, kind of like little nuggets of vitamins, which are added AFTER the food is processed so as not to destroy the vitamins during the heating process.
All my cats love this food. When switching over, I always allow a minimum of two weeks to complete, this way their tummies don't get upset from a quick switchover from one food to another. When I'm combining the two foods, they always pick this one out first and leave the old behind to eat later. So it must taste good to them!
I researched all the food companies before deciding on this one. Yes, Blue Buffalo did have a couple of recalls in the past 3 years ever since the melamine from China fiasco. (the Blue Buffalo recalls were not part of that original recall, these were voluntary due to some bad rice protein). Still makes me a little leery of any food I give them, but I don't have the time or the inclination to cook their meals from scratch, and they would probably go downhill health-wise. So I consider this Blue Buffalo food the next best thing for them.
Six months ago my oldest cat was having hair loss problems; after many vet trips and a lot of money spent, the vet had no idea why she was losing her fur. I have come to the conclusion recently it could have been corn or soy related, as most commercial cat foods have corn or soy, and sometimes both, in the ingredients. The Blue Buffalo has neither, and my cat's hair loss has stopped totally.
Both my cats that eat this food are acting playful as kittens again, and their last wellness visits at the vet were perfect. I hope feeding them this food can partially be attributed to their being healthy.

(More customer reviews)This is the ONLY dog food my Shepherd mix will eat. For the 2 reviews above, your dogs are unique and prob. have an intolerance. Evo is a wonderful food, Eukanuba has MANY things that are horrible for your dog to eat. Evo has NO corn or by-products which are very bad for dogs. It is a high protein food so its not great for 7+ year old dogs but wonderful for normal adult dogs. Perfect for dogs with grain allergies. Whenever looking for food stay away from dog foods with ANY corn or by-products. Eukanuba and Iams are CONSTANTLY recalling their food. I work at a local pet shop and in the past year they have had recalls 5+ times, no other food has been recalled.

It's a little cheaper than the actual Weruva brand cause its seafood based. Their seafood has the lowest mercury levels but still this isnt recomended for everyday use on your kitties, you're supposed to switch it around. I only give it to my babies 1 or 2-ice a week that's it. You should hear them begging when the can is popped open ha ha ha.

We have a relatively small dog who is still in his puppy stage, and the kibbles are the right size. It is a bit pricier than the supermarket brands of dog foods, but we think our dog's health is worth the extra minor investment.

(More customer reviews)I came across this cat food while looking for a low carb, grain free food for my three cats. One of them is a diabetic - so low carb foods are a must. I had been giving them Innova Evo but the non-diabetic ones did not like the taste so much. It got to the point where I was feeding each cat a different brand of cat food because they wouldn't eat the same kind.
After trying about five different other foods I tried the Go! Natural brand which had just been picked up by my pet food store. I knew it was going to be different when I opened the bag and all three came running.
I've been using it for about six weeks now and I can tell that it's made a difference. My oldest cat, who is about 13, has gained weight and taken to playing tag with the two younger ones. All of them have better looking coats and shinier fur. I am very happy to have found this product and will continue to use it.

(More customer reviews)I learned recently that cats are not supposed to have GRAINS in their food. It causes them health problems, including weight problems. The first few days of trying this I couldn't decide if they were liking it or not. They had always eaten dry food. After a few days on this canned they really started to show that they were liking it. It is a little chunky, but the chunks are easily smoothed out - it's also better to add some warm water with this to make it a little soupy. If it has been refrigerated, let it get to room temperature. All 3 cats like this as well as the Tuna Too Cool and the one that has Shrimp and Chicken combined - but they didn't like salmon.

Our cats personally like all of the flavors that these Wellness pouches come in but we try to order the grain free ones. We don't give them the whole pouch at once and even when they stay in the pouch they don't get as crusted over and stale as when they are in the can. Feeding your cats on the pouches alone however can become rather expensive and we normally supplement the pouches with dry food.

(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this food, and so does my baby, Aphrodite! I absolutely recommend this food with no equivocations!
Aphrodite is 9 years old and for the past 2 years, he's been having digestion and kidney problems that grew progressively more severe. About 6 months ago, it got so severe that I was sobbing at the vet trying to decide if we should put him to sleep. At that point, he was vomiting several times a day, had lost 5 lbs, and looked awful. Everything we had tried up to that point had failed.
The vet suggested we try one more thing - a series of injections and a bunch of pills - and a switch to high protein wet food. Of course, my baby deserved a last ditch effort and we went ahead with it. After a hefty vet bill and 2 weeks, he actually seemed to be perking up! After another 2 weeks, it seemed that he would pull through. But the prescription food was costing me almost $2 per DAY! I had to find a suitable alternative. So to the internet I went. That's where I first discovered the Wilderness Diet by Blue Buffalo! With it's high protein content and wholesome, holistic, grain free (specifically corn) ingredient list, it's actually superior to the dry version of the RX diet.
I ran to the pet store and to my surprise, they carried it. So I grabbed a small bag and headed home with fingers crossed. Aphrodite is a finicky eater, so the first test was whether he'd eat it at all. To my relief, he ran for it and LOVED it! So, I watched and waited.
6 months later, my cat is doing amazingly well! Esp. considering just months ago, he was on the verge of being put down! His coat is thick, shiny, and healthy. His eyes are clear and bright. And he rarely vomits - save for the occasional hairball! To maintain his health, I've switched to Bellyrubs Organic Bonito Flakes and Liv-a-Littles All-Natural Freeze Dried Chicken treats, as well!
And today, Aphrodite is incredibly healthy, happy, and back to his old self.
Now, if I can only do something about his wayward curiosity! =D
