Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After a terrible accident killed one of my two cats, I got very concerned about her surviving sister's well-being. Call it obsessive, but I started reading books on cat first aid and cat health and nutrition, and one day I was filling her food bowl and I happened to glance at the ingredients in her dry cat food. It was then that I realized that the dry food I was feeding her was JUNK! No nutritive value at all! (She was eating Meow Mix, because she seemed to like it, but not anymore.)
Cats don't need cornmeal or veggies or soy or "natural flavoring" (by the way, I found out that most pet products are "naturally flavored" with manure...that's right, MANURE). Cats don't need fish flavored cereal. They need high quality protein, plain and simple. And this is probably the best stuff I've ever found. No grains, no by-products, all natural, and my cat loves the stuff.
Before I started her on this food, she was sedentary and overweight, and she was throwing up a lot. I always thought it was hair balls, but really I think it was her diet. Since I switched her to this diet, she seems to have a lot more energy, she runs around and plays a lot more, she's lost weight, her coat has gotten shinier and silkier, her eyes have cleared up, and she never throws up anymore.
It's a lot more expensive than other kinds of dry cat food, but really, you wouldn't feed your kids junk food with no nutritive value just because it's cheaper, so why would you feed junk to your pets? I honestly think it's worth the price. It's a great product, and I think I'll be feeding it to my cats for many years to come.

Natural Balance Ultra Premium Formula Dry Cat Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We are breeders of sphynx (hairless) cats. Prior to Natural Balance, the only way we could get our cats to eat dry food was to mix it with warm water and a half can of canned cat food, usually Iams or Friskies when money was low. Our local feed store recommended Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance as a healthy and tasty alternative. Our adult cats love it...no more "hunger strikes" holding out for canned food. Even our kittens started eating it at only 8 weeks, when mixed with a bit of warm water. Since there are no 'fillers', the cats are eating less to become full, which to me justifies the higher price.

Wellness Healthy Weight Adult Cat Food, 11.5-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My Cat loves this food, and I love it too because since she has been eating it, she has lost a bit of weight, has plenty of energy, and her COAT looks amazing! It is much thicker and shinier than before and she seems very happy. I don't think it is too expensive - one bag lasts our cat almost 3 months! That means you are spending less than $15 per month on food, and honestly what good Cat-Parent wouldn't spend only $0.50 per day to make sure his/her little one is getting excellent nutrition?

(More customer reviews)I changed cat foods after one of my cats had a bout of chronic diarrhea that was not going away. This food has no dyes in it and he's tolerated this food much better than anything else we've tried so far. In just one month we noticed our cats have such nice shiny, soft coats! They also love the taste and we can't keep enough of it in the house!

Orijen Adult Cat & Kitten Formula Dry Cat Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My cat eats mostly a raw diet, but when we have to go away we feed him this brand. He's very picky but really enjoys the taste of this and I had no problem switching him to this. It previously took me 2 weeks to switch him from standard cat food to holistic cat food as he detested that one and would barely eat it. I'm glad I found something healthy that works.
Grain and Ash Free! So much healthier.

Nature's Variety Dry Cat Food, Feline Instinct Rabbit Diet, 12.1-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I looked for a long while to find a dry kibble that my cats would enjoy and tolerate. One cannot have rice or other grains. They preferred the previous formula of Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit meal formula. I purchased a new bag and the cats wouldn't touch it and in fact were repelled by it. I looked at the ingredients and the order, and they were the same until you got to the ingrediant "Natural Chicken flavor" on the old bag. On the new bag, it said "Natural pork flavor." The individual kibble are flatter and airy and the old kibble was denser and a bit rounder. Further the old formula says "90%+ of the protein is from rabbit, salmon, chicken, herring meals." The new formula says "75% pure animal ingredients and nutriousl oils." In any case, there are some differences. I'm not sure if it is the pork flavor, the disc texture and density or even if there is a change in the ratio. THe first bag references the percentage of protein and its identity, whereas the new bage simply indicates the percentage of animal ingredients. I have some sad kitties who loved the old formula. Looking at [...] review of premium dry, it also lists other types that might also appeal to kitties.

Organix Adult and Kitten Dry Feline Formula Cat Food, 15-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is the real deal. Possibly the most costly non-prescription cat food available, it is nonetheless a bargain. Until trying this, the only food my cat could tolerate was prescription Iams Low Residue. With any other food he would vomit every day and have frequent bouts of diarrhea. Even with the Iams, the poor little guy would have the diarrhea every few days. Then I tried Organix. I went through two 6 lb bags and never had a single incident of illness. It is absolutely unbelievable. Of course when you read the label you can see why it's so different. I will never feed my cat anything else. Truly amazing.

Wellness CORE Grain-Free, Fish and Fowl Adult Cat and Kitten Food, 12-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have yet to find a superior dry cat food. I prefer to feed my cat a raw diet, but sometimes it isn't possible. An apartment doesn't have a place for an extra freezer so unfortunately a raw diet isn't feasible. This food is the closest to a raw diet you can get in a dry kibble. NO GRAIN and all meat proteins, exactly how cats want it. And like other reviewers commented, cats LOVE it. My cat always runs hopefully to his CORE storage bin when I start to open it and cries and begs until it is on his dish. My cat's coat is glossy, thick, healthy and barely sheds. His eyes are clear and bright. He has tons of energy and every year his vet is impressed with how healthy he is. No digestive problems, and no kidney problems that are so common in cats fed grain cat food.
I strongly recommend this cat food!

Evolve Maintenance Formula with Chicken Dry Cat Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I've tried a few high quality cat food products and this one is right up there with Innova/EVO brand, but even cheaper in price.
One of my cats has had urinary tract issues in the past. The Vet stated possible Struvite crystal problems which some lower quality foods, especially ones that use soy products, etc as protein fillers instead of animal protein(many variables in the low quality causes an offset of PH balance in their urine; Cat urine is generally more on the acidic side than alkaline) plus not enough water intake can cause urinary issues.
Besides some few and far between accidents in the past 6 months, this product has delivered. It seems to agree with my cat's needs and has stopped her UTI's.
My one complaint is how it tends to give my cats(I have two cats) almost diarrhea consistency excrement. It's not quite there, but definitely looser and sticky. Once in awhile it gets stuck in the hair, therefore making them drag their bums on the ground. It's not for lack of water consumption, as we do give them wet food also. They also have a great water thirst reflex(one even has a running water fetish!). However, we've had to cut back on that as with the combination of the wet food and this food, the stools get even more loose.
My educated guess is the high nutrients with their consumption doesn't get fully absorbed, or maybe the high fat content. I can't say for certain, but it does it to both of my cats.
In conclusion, with how healthy my cats are currently, I'm willing to put up with this minor irritation. I just stay nearby with a wet cloth and some spot shot in hand, *laughs*.

Go Natural Chicken, Fruit & Vegetable Cat Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had my male cat on this food awhile back and he not only liked it, he seemed to do very well on it. I have tried everything from Acana, Wellness, Wellness Core, Innova, and a bunch of other cat foods and my cats did not do well on them. In researching cat foods, I discovered wet food is ideal and that carbs are bad, as they can cause diabetes, UTI, etc. My male cat has had 2 UTI's on other high carb foods. So now I've been trying grain free foods and making one of their meals canned food each day. But it is too costly to feed 3 cats only canned every day, so I want to split half dry half wet. I am torn between buying this food, which my cat did well on, or trying the grain free, which I don't know how they will do on. I was tempted to try EVO, but now I think it may actually be too high in protein. So I'm going to buy either this one or the grain free Go Natural cat food today. I'll probably try the grain free.

(More customer reviews)I would like my cats to eat raw or raw freeze dried, but they can't stand the smell. I tried Prowl, mixed with water as I want my kitty to get more fluids, and they drank it just fine. I had even tried some of the other canned high protein/no starch type foods mixed with water and they didnt want that either. Of course they loved the bad kinds of wet food. Prowl was the first "good" kind of cat food I could get them to eat.
