This food has no dyes in it and he's tolerated this food much better than anything else we've tried so far. In just one month we noticed our cats have such nice shiny, soft coats! They also love the taste and we can't keep enough of it in the house!

(More customer reviews)My 2 overweight cats have been on 3 different diets (all vet recommended) for about 6 years and none of them worked. A friend suggested I use Spot's Stew and Wellness dried food and I can't believe it, it worked. AFter I don't know, maybe 6 mos., my 20-lb female is 17 pounds and 20-lb male is 17.8 lbs. They are 10 years old and I am trying to prevent diabetes and wanted to get the weight off. Feeding the stew twice a day - 2 TBSP. each cat - but the boy steals from the girl. And a total of 1 cup wellness. It is not a lot of food for such large cats, but they seem happy and very healthy with shiny coats. Actually, my female has started perching again on high places that she stopped jumping too with the added weight and my male has been more active. I am not listening to my vets anymore when it comes to diets. Although the food is expensive, it is worth it, just to see the activity level pick-up.

Holistic Select Feline Radiant Adult and Kitten Health Chicken Meal Recipe Dry Cat Food, 3-Pound Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I tried a few dry food brands after the pet food recall of 2007. I tried some grain free, and noticed some problems from the cats. I tried going all wet - but apparently - my 17 yo needs some of the grains in dry food, Their main food of choice (I'm not much of one for switching - had trouble with Turkey and Salmon flavors) is Wellness Canned Cat Food for Adult Cats, Chicken Formula (Pack of 12 12.5 Ounce Cans).
I started with this Dry when it was Eagle Pack Holistic Select. The formula was EU certified (which has a higher degree of ingredient integrity than US pet foods). Since then, this company merged with the new owners of Wellness - so the 2 brands can compliment each other.
The cats ages range currently from 7 to 17. The below feeding schedule is modified slightly (sometimes only two feedings a day, maybe half the amount of dry, etc.) If your cat has a sensitive tummy, it is best to feed more frequent, smaller meals each day.
The 7 and 13 yo boys get about 1/4 cup dry per day.
The 17 yo girl gets about 1/8 cup dry per day.
I then split one can between all three twice a day.
This is why I prefer the smaller bag. Except for the removal of additional Vitamin K (google on that one), the ingredients haven't changed much since I started in 2008 (when it was EU certified). For saving Vet Bills - it pays to have kitties on a high quality diet.
PS - the bag comes with its own zip lock closure, I've never had a problem with spoilage nor a-toxins.

(More customer reviews)If I had known this cat food was manufactured in Thailand I would not have ordered it. I can't imagine there's much oversight of pet food production there. There is no mention of Thailand in Amazon's description, but it's stamped in big red letters on the box.
I fed one can without knowing - it made my cat sick and there were whole fish vertebra in the vomit.

(More customer reviews)I've tried many brands of canned cat food. This one was the winner! All 10 cats gobble this up, and I have seen an amazing improvement in their vitality. They are more playful, their coats are so soft and shiny. I like that it is natural, the texture is smooth and moist, and the ingredients are nutritious. Unlike some other canned foods, this one seems easily digested as not one cat has vomited after eating it. The price I paid with free prime shipping was just 68-cents per can. The food does not have a strong odor. They don't have 'cat breath' after eating this food either! I hope that Amazon gets this back in stock, and puts it on subscribe-and-save!
