(More customer reviews)My 2 overweight cats have been on 3 different diets (all vet recommended) for about 6 years and none of them worked. A friend suggested I use Spot's Stew and Wellness dried food and I can't believe it, it worked. AFter I don't know, maybe 6 mos., my 20-lb female is 17 pounds and 20-lb male is 17.8 lbs. They are 10 years old and I am trying to prevent diabetes and wanted to get the weight off. Feeding the stew twice a day - 2 TBSP. each cat - but the boy steals from the girl. And a total of 1 cup wellness. It is not a lot of food for such large cats, but they seem happy and very healthy with shiny coats. Actually, my female has started perching again on high places that she stopped jumping too with the added weight and my male has been more active. I am not listening to my vets anymore when it comes to diets. Although the food is expensive, it is worth it, just to see the activity level pick-up.

I have tried possibly all brands of pet food, and she had been doing OK, not great, on the California Natural brand. Lately her tummy has been acting again (I'll spare you the unpleasant details on how I found out) so I decided it was time to try something else, and that's when I found the Halo food at my local Whole Foods.
It's very expensive, but I thought it might be worth a try.
Well, a month later, I'm pleased to report 200% success. The Devon's stomach is settled, and my other cat (a 2 year old rescue mutt) is doing great on it as well.
The unexpected benefit? No more stinky poo smell in the room where the litterbox is! This alone would be worth the higher price, but it's also good in these days of tainted pet food to know the manufacturer is dedicated to producing healthy, nutritious food for our beloved pets.
Well worth the premium price and highly recommended. Try getting the 20lbs bag if you can as it's significantly cheaper per pound than the 3 and 6 pound bags.
