Iams Healthy Naturals Dry Dog Food Review

(More customer reviews)Healthy Naturals is a great dog food, reasonably priced. She has been nothing but healthy. I am glad they came out with a Lamb and Rice formula though we prefer that as it's better for her than the chicken.

(More customer reviews)I own a West Highland White Terrier that has the most skin allergies ever! I put my dog on this brand of food based upon a recommmendation from a family member with a similar breed of dog.Within a couple of weeks, there was a difference in smell and regrowth of lost hair on my dog!It sounds crazy, but the terrier mix of food really paid off for my dog. She has had skin problems for over 16 years.I recommend this brand to anyone that has a dog with skin issues.Great stuff!

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Grain Free Dry Dog Food, Duck Recipe, 4.5-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have been feeding my chihuahua puppy blue buffalo since I got her but always used the puppy version in the pink bag. She loves it! My ragdoll cats even eat it. She loves duck treats so I thought she would like this wilderness duck version and she won't eat it. The cats won't either. I'll stick with the Blue Buffalo puppy brand.

Castor & Pollux Organix Adult Canine Formula Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We used to have two pomeranians - Autumn and Teddie. Ever since we lost Teddie last summer, Autumn became very depressed and wouldn't eat. We tried so many different brands including home-cooked, he would only ate a couple times and wouldn't touch it anymore. He lost so much weight and got us so worried. But that all changed when we found Organix and that's the only brand Autumn will eat. Now he can't wait until I feed him every morning. The cost Amazon offered is less expenisve than other retailers and you can't beat free shipping!! Please continue carrying it!!

Natural Balance Sweet Potato Venison Formula Dog Food (Pack of 12 13-Ounce Cans) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My dog, who is on a vension diet due to allergies, likes it better than the Science Diet I was buying at the vet, and the price is better ($4 vs. $2 per can). I think he's itching less as well, that may be because he's no longer getting into the cat's food that we try to keep inaccessible to him.

Pawsitively Gourmet Snowglobe Cookies with Chicken Livers for Dogs (Pack of 20) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I found this brand while wandering in an airport waiting for a flight. I bought one cookie for 6 bucks. When I came home and my dog just devoured the thing, I wanted to see where i could find them and amazon is one of the few places (def best prices) because the company itself only ships to vendors. I consider this a very special treat, something he gets not on a daily basis but for something special. He is a pet therapy dog so if he behaves well on a visit, I give him one. He LOVES them, particularly the lobsters. (They all smell the same to me so I'm sure it's just a different design. The frosting does smell creamy (Yogurt I believe) so if your dog has a problem with dairy, I wouldn't suggest them. But it's basically made of whole wheat flour, peanut butter, and some other normal ingredients. They are very crunchy too. My dog actually licks the frosting off first then munches on the cookie part. He's very meticulous about these tricks. I think he knows they don't come around often. I think they're a great idea and I'd absolutely suggest them.

Castor and Pollux Natural Ultramix Puppy Chicken, Vegetables and Brown Rice Canine Formula in Gravy Canned Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 3 months-old Yorkie puppy is a bit spoiled because I feed her ground turkey/beef at least once a day...and then I "attempt" to get her to eat dry dog food (Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown Rice Puppy Food 6 lbs.) for her other meal but she usually just plays with it when she starts getting hungry. It also takes her a good while to eat dry dog food because it looks like it's too hard for her little teeth to chew...
I heated up a bit of this today and she happily ate a good amount before falling asleep. All of the ingredients (at least the first half) are natural meats, grains, veges, and fruits. I'm hoping that I can start mixing in some dry food with this to encourage her to eat a more nutritionally balanced diet.
** UPDATE **
I can't change my rating on this item but I wanted to add that this gave her some serious problems the day after I wrote the review above. When I came home from work during lunch, she was pacing back and forth on my rug. A few minutes later, a stream of clear, mucus-y liquid squirted out from her rear end. It repeated every few seconds and I ended up on my knees, trying to catch her projectile squirts as she kept trying to walk away from me. Needless to say, I had to toss the remaining 80% of the can and she has never had another problem since.

EVO Grain Free Turkey and Chicken Formula Dry Dog Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)In Nov/Dec of '09, Innova decided to change the ingredients in this particular line of food. No need to let your paying customers know. $400 worth of vet bills later, and a bout with pancreatitis (my dog of course), I realize it's this food that is causing the problems. They later confirmed in email that they did in fact change the ingredients; however, they did not confirm whether they would pay my vet bills.
Not to mention, they also changed their guidelines recommending this food NOT be fed to large breed puppies, whereas it was previously fine.
They tout themselves as some Natural, good for your dog, food, doubtful.

EVO Red Meat Small Bite Dry Dog Food Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)First I will say I love most Innova Evo products and feed my three Miniature Schnauzers the chicken formula which was the original recipe.
Before I had found Evo, my Miniature Schnauzers were fed a RAW diet (aka BARF)which was great but unfortunately one of the girls started getting sick on raw chicken because of the fat content.
Innova Evo's red meat recipe came out much later than the Innova Evo's chicken formula and I decided to try it to give them a change of taste. Unfortunately two of my dogs couldn't take the change even though I did it on a very gradual reduction of Innova Evo's chicken formula to Innova Evo's red meat formula.
Any little amount of the Innova Evo's red meat formula (10% Innova Evo's Red Meat to 90% Innova Evo's Chicken) gave two of my Schnauzers bad diarrhea after eating it and after a week of trying to convert them all gradually I decided that it wasn't worth it and took it to back to the store where I purchased it from and they allowed me to trade it for the chicken formula. I placed all of my Schnauzers back on Innova Evo's chicken formula and they were fine.
I don't know why Innova Evo's Red Meat formula caused two of my Miniature Schnauzers diarrhea (each time I fed them this) but I don't think it's the red meat, I think it's what ever else is mixed in with the red meat which may have caused it or perhaps I just had a bad batch.
The reason I believe this is because I have given all three Schnauzers meaty beef neck bones before in the past and they were fine.
Whatever it is I'm not going to try Innova's EVO Red Meat formula again and take my chance.

Natural Balance Organic Formula Dry Dog Food, 12.5-Pound Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Bought this food locally in the smallest size - we have two chihuahuas and they are pretty picky eaters. They normally have a wet/dry combination of food but with this stuff they eat it dry no problem. We try to include as much organic into our diets as possible and it made sense to do the same with the dogs, plus this stuff is made in the USA (not in Canada which apparently has less strict regulations for dog food - which is where the Newman's own brand is made, I've been told.) One of the dogs has a pretty sensitive stomach so it's hard to find a food that we can consistently purchase that doesn't make her sick. The small size bites are perfect for our dogs, which is really nice too. Remember when introducing your dog to a new food, it's best to start combining it with their old food.

IAMS Proactive Health Dog Food, Ground Variety Pack, 13.2-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These two little girls are very fussy eaters who have rejected so many different canned foods that we eventually lost count. We were truly delighted to finally find a canned dog food that they both like and that is good for them. Oddly enough there is a chunky variety of this brand and the girls even rejected that.
The local Humane Society loves us because we have donated so many cases of canned dog food that our girls rejected, we will continue to donate as we always have but in the form of checks--they do great work and they need our help, please consider donating what you can to a local Humane Society or animal rescue because they really need our help.

Newman's Own Organics Adult Dog Food Formula Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I cannot express enough how pleased I am with this dog food. I feed my 11 year old German Shepard, and my two year old Pittie Girl this food every day, and the benefits are astounding. For most of my Shepards life I fed her a well known, vet recommended food, and yet she always had stomach problems. Trying many things, it was not until I rescued, and I should really say she rescued me, and the dog food recall, that I began doing research on brands of food. After a long investigation, I decided on Newman's Own, not only because there had been no recall on the food, but because of the ingredients, and that the proceeds going to charity. Now, choosing this brand, would mean that I would have to order it online, because my local stores did not carry it, but that was all right with me, because not only do I enjoy online ordering, but I am an older, disabled woman, and getting to the store and hauling in packages is very hard for me. Well, I want to tell you, My 11 year old thrives on this food, with no more digestive issues, and a beautiful white coat, and she loves eating it with vigor. My two year old American Pit Bull Terrier, another love of my life, also thrives on this food, has the most beautiful shiny coat ever, and people say all the time how beautiful her coat is. I do spoil my fur kids, but their health and well being is my number one priority. I have just recently switched over feeding my 4 cats Newman's Own cat food, both dry and canned food, and since then, I have noticed the difference in the elimination of hair balls. I know that I am truly a pet lover, but I believe that if you love your pets and want only the best well being for them, unnecessary medical issues, and all around good health, a good balanced, safe, natural food is the way to go. I highly recommend Newman's Own dog and cat food. I also feed my two dogs Newman's Own biscuits as treats.

Nature's Variety Freeze Dried Cat and Dog Food, Diet Chicken and Turkey Medallions, 12 Ounce Bag Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product quite some time ago for my older cat - who initially wouldn't touch it. Not dry, not wet - just turned up his nose. I gave up and put it in a cupboard and forgot about it....till I got a new kitten. My new kitty eats raw chicken as a treat; one night he was howling for some and I didn't have enough to share (I was making it for my own dinner!) and I remember this stuff. Pulled it out of the cupboard, broke it up, added water and he went nuts. Won't even touch his other food at this point - love these things. Could put the whole bag away if I let him....and funnily enough, my older cat, after watching the kitten happily scarf away, has finally decided he likes them too. The increase in his activity level and general wellbeing after just a week of eating these is amazing. I strongly recommend this product - you just have to give your kitty time to get used to it as it is a different smell and taste then they've probably ever eaten.
