Nature's Variety Instinct Lamb Formula Canned Cat Food Review

Nature's Variety Instinct Lamb Formula Canned Cat Food

This food is not only healthy for cats, but they love it too!
I started looking for an all life stage food when I got a kitten to befriend my year old cat. Feeding two cats seperately (kitten and cat food) is just not going to work for me. I also had to ween my cat off Science Diet (aka crack cat food). Feed the best you can afford, and the best they will eat...easier said than done.
We tried Wellness, Solid Gold, Avoderm, etc. Some they hated totally, and some didn't seem so healthy. I learned alot about cat food. Just read the ingredients! Cats are carnivores, and corn should not be in the top five ingredients...or at all.
We have tried several flavors, and
They hate Duck (looks gross too!)
They will nibble Rabbit and Chicken
Lamb they gobble up : )
(P.S. They will eat the Prarie wet foods, but not very much. Also, I feed Innova's EVO dry food.)

Rub with Love Bengal Masala Rub by Tom Douglas, 3.5-Ounce Review

Rub with Love Bengal Masala Rub by Tom Douglas, 3.5-Ounce

I'm a big spice mix fan and have to give a strong thumbs-up for Chef Tom's Bengal Masala Rub. Surprisingly, this is neither a 'burn your mouth hot' rub, nor is it even heavy on the cumin and curry flavors. (Though why *wouldn't* you be surprised, given the exceedingly generic Product Description that Amazon lists for this mix!)
There really isn't a single dominant note in this rub, it's a balance of cardamom, smoked paprika, garlic, and even (I suspect) cinnamon. I'd advise people who want to kick things up a notch to add a dash of cayenne or black pepper.
This works very well on lamb, chicken, and (surprisingly!) fish such as catfish or snapper. Tends to be lackluster on red meats and fish like tuna and salmon.
Only the two standout mixes that Chef Tom sells: Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub and Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Chicken Rub are better than this one, mostly due to their extra versatility.

Tom Douglas ""Rub with Love"" Bengal Masala Rub is an exotic mix of Indian spices -cardamom, coriander and clove, with hints of garlic and chive adds flavor to lamb, chicken, seafood, beef or veggies. Tom and his wife Jackie own 5 of Seattle's most remarkable restaurants - Dahlia Lounge, Etta's, Palace Kitchen, Lola and Serious Pie. Our restaurants have also inspired a product line. Rub with Love has a great story: When we opened our seafood restaurant Etta's in 1995, the menu featured a signature salmon dish that was dry rubbed. The rub combined brown sugar, smoked chilies, and a hint of thyme to evoke the alder smoked salmon the Pacific Northwest is famous for. The dish became so popular (and still is) that people began asking for rub to use at home. After selling in hand packed zip lock bags for a few years, we introduced the Tom Douglas Rub with Love rub line in 1999. The rest is history...A great selling point for Rub with Love Spice Rubs is their fast prep time. A quick sprinkle and rub 5-10 minutes prior to cooking is all the time it takes. Our spice rubs marry with the juices of whatever you're flavoring to form a delicious glaze. In just 10 minutes, you're ready to cook! You can grill, bake, barbecue or sauté with Rub with Love Spice Rubs.Chef inspired, restaurant tested, quick, easy and delicious, our rubs have become staples in our customers' pantries.

I'd been looking for the perfect training snack. It had to be small, soft and yummy to the dog. It should also come in an easy to carry container. These treats fit the bill on all counts. The dogs love them. The bag is small and resealable so you just stuff it in your pocket as you run out the door (terrific when your being herded by 3 dogs!) The snacks are soft and small, about the size of a thick postage stamp. These are as close to the perfect training treat I have found!

Shan Curry Powder Mix 100g Review

Shan Curry Powder Mix 100g

I love this curry powder mix. It's good for a variety of meats, I make lamb and chicken curry with it. It tastes like the good curry you get in an authentic Indian restaurant. And, it's easy to make, the directions are on the back. Just add meat, onions and plain yougert and you're all set. I also add a can of pigeon peas, but you can use any veg you want (although that's not in the recipe on box). You can adjust the "spicy hot" level by adding more or less of the curry powder. Try it if you're a curry lover, and even if you aren't --with this curry powder you may become one.

Kitchens Of India Curry Paste For Lamb Curry, 3.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) Review

Kitchens Of India Curry Paste For Lamb Curry, 3.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the authentic product, I can vouch for it since I am from India. The ITC Hotel chefs who created this recipe are very well regarded in India. Its just the right mix for a spicy lamb curry, all you need to do is mix it with water and add the lamb and then let it simmer on your stove for 30-45 minutes to bring out the aromas and flavors. Really convenient and time saving.
The lamb curry paste is spicier than a butter chicken curry mix. The chicken curry usually has a more creamy consistency and is sweeter due to higher content of tomatoes. The lamb curry has a base of garlic, ginger, black pepper, onions, tomatoes and other highly aromatic Indian spices (bayleaf, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom, cloves, black cardamom, shah jeera, corriander seeds, red chilli powder etc.).
I usually make my own curry as I prefer fresh ingredients but this mix is wonderful, it has just the right blend of spices that go into lamb curry. The secret to Indian food is to lower the flame once a curry boils and then simmer it for quite some time. This step is not a must if you're in a tearing hurry but it unlocks the real flavors.
Once done this curry keeps very well in the refrigerator. In fact, as with all spicy curries, it even tastes better the next day. I use two packets at a time to make an entree for 6 people.
Variations:
I sometimes add some 1X1.5 inch cubes of diced potatoes along with the lamb to absorb the spiciness which makes it into a "Lamb Vindaloo". Or you can use beef instead of lamb, it will taste great with any red meat that absorbs the spice.
If you're a vegetarian, you can use this curry with potatoes and green peas since the curry paste does not contain any meat in it. Just remember to add peas towards the end of the simmering process or they will get bleached out and you'll get a fantastic dish.
Pairing:
Pair this lamb curry with some aromatic basmati rice, cooked till all grains are done but still separate, and a bowl of plain yogurt (with a little sugar if you like) to counter the spiciness. Or you can also buy frozen Indian nan/roti from the local Indian grocery store, toast it in the oven and enjoy. Yummy!
