The fillets may be broken up into smaller pieces, making them ideal for training and positive reinforcement.
They're highly portable and you can throw them in your pocket without getting grease all over the place as happens with some other treats.
I feel great feeding these to my dog since salmon is very nutritious. Also, wild-caught doesn't have antibiotics and other chemicals that are given to farm-raised fish, plus it's less damaging to the environment.
These treats are a bit pricey but worth every penny, especially since you can break up the treats into *many* yummy tidbit-sized pieces.
Both you and your dog will love these treats! Enjoy!!

As for "Smart Dog Snacks" with Ginkgo Biloba and DHA...I'd better watch out, because my dogs love these treats so much that the treats just may make them smart enough to figure out how to open the "treat cabinet" take the container down and unscrew the lid to help themselves!
While the treats themselves look like beef jerky, they are made with all natural, organic ingredients. The dogs don't care what's in these treats, they just know they love them. As I am typing this they are both sitting at attention, staring at me and whimpering while trying to do the Jedi Mind Trick of "you want to give us more Smart Dog Snacks, pick up your hand from that keyboard and reach in the container and hand us more. Do it. Do it now."
There's so much junk out there and plenty of junk food that claims to be natural (just like people food) but this stuff is the real deal. Much like the food that I feed to the humans in the family, I know what each of the ingredients are and love that the first two ingredients are duck and brown rice. There aren't cost cutting fillers in these treats; it's a straight up high quality product. As an aside, I've bought from the seller, The Whole Healthy Pet many times, and I am always impressed with the products they carry. Just as I know that I can trust the Plato brand, I know that if a product is being carried by The Whole Healthy Pet, then it is a high quality product and I feel like a good parent getting it for my dogs.

(More customer reviews)Our dogs love these peanut butter carrot trests. They are small and easy to break apart and chew. They work great as training treats. We have purchased Robbie Dawg treats in the reusable jars (cute gifts!) and reusable tins (these are great too for travel). This version of the product came in a box with a sealed inner plastic bag. Which is fine except the inner plastic sealed bag on the last two boxes we have purchases comes ripped open. All the treats fall out in the bottom of the box. I ended up transferring them to another container.
They do not contain wheat or any animal by-products. Very healthy dog treats and our dogs seem to love them!!

(More customer reviews)I'm giving three stars because when I snapped off a piece my rat terrier/chihuahua loved it...but then, she loves everything! My spaniel/chihuahua, well, he ate it but not with any enthusiasm. Kinda played with it a bit. He's a fickle eater with a sensitive stomach. That's why I am here. PLATO DID NOT PROVIDE SERVING SIZE INFORMATION ON THE PACKAGE! Yes, they pat you on the back for taking the time to read their label. But did they read it before printing? Clearly you would give a small dog less than a large dog but how much? I don't know how rich these are and if they'll upset my little ones stomach if I give him a 1/4, 1/2 stick a couple bites? I have no clue! So I attempt to contact the manufacturer (don't even try to do it from their label because it only has a mailing address! ARGH!). This means going online to find them. After finding a phone number and email address I call. Ring...ring...ring..ring...ring...ring...no voicemail..no human! ARGH again! So I resorted to email to ask them what the serving size is. Then receive a return email that it can take up to 3 days for a reply while they make great dog treats. I believe this since they don't answer even their phones! The whole office must be chipping in! Unfortunately, I had no choice but to return them not knowing any info on serving sizes. Thankfully, my pet store will take it back even though it's opened. If you need servings, contact them first. All in all, my one dog gives them 5 stars (she's the one who loves it all!) and the other a mere 2 stars. I give it 0 for not providing the owners the information they need to treat their dog without making them sick :(

(More customer reviews)I have made every effort to NOT buy/feed anything made in China to my pet. I researched these duck/sweet potato treats before finally deciding to buy them. Nowhere on the amazon product page does it tell you where these treats are made, so I searched for the Smokehouse website which claimed that ONLY some of their CHICKEN treats contained chicken from China, but all other products are made in the USA. So, I felt safe in purchasing these duck/sweet potato treats. After opening a bag, and giving them to my dog did I glance at the product origin. Needless to say my dog likes them very much, but I was NOT happy to find PRODUCT OF CHINA on the bag.
Boo hiss to amazon for not putting the product origin on the product page, and to Smokehouse for misleading consumers on their product information website. Why do they do this, because there are customers just like me that care where the product originates. Many of you may not be concerned about this, but I am, and I think it's very misleading not to provide accurate, and complete information about the product when purchasing from an internet store. At least the product doesn't smell like plastic like the Dingo products.
I won't be purchasing these again. My dog seemed to like them, but she won't be getting anymore of them. I took a star off due to the lack of complete information from amazon, and misleading information from Smokehouse.
UPDATE: Big thumbs up to amazon for great customer service. When I called to return this item they were very helpful in processing a refund, and because it is considered a grocery item I didn't even have to return the items. I had also purchased the Smokehouse duck chips, but they too are made in China. I suggested the addition of the country of origin to both product pages. Just another reason why I don't hesitate to purchase from amazon. They truly have great customer service....rare these days.

I honestly don't know why this is, and it seems odd. As soon as you open the bag inside the box, you get a whiff of an overwhelming sweetness. After my dog has one, he's constantly trying to get the caked treat off of his back molars. It sticks on pretty hard. I have to help or I have to brush his teeth to get rid of it. This can't be good for his teeth, and I don't know if he needs the extra sweetness in his diet. I would recommend Old Mother Hubbard wheat-free treats, such as chicken and apples, before this. They're also made by Wellness. Old Mother Hubbard Classic Oven Baked Chick' N' Apples Dog Biscuits Or, Get Naked dog biscuits, which are also very good. How can a dog treat that states cage free chickens and all natural come from China? Its rare to hear of a cage free chicken coup in China of all places. And the standards of inspection are quite lax to say the least. I have since found better alternatives that I can be more comfortable in giving my dog, such as Plato Natural Organic Chicken made here in the USA.

AND...the dogs LOVE them. HOWEVER...Look at the label a little closer and it is made where??? MADE IN CHINA . In a disclaimer addressing this concern ( remember the dogs and cats dying due to melamine poisoning to their kidneys when the Chinese manufactured protein was enhanced with the deadly protein heavy plastic used in dog food European , Canadian and American manufacturers had purchased from China?) a paste on circular label has been attached to the front stating " Tested in USA"...and explaining that the testing is random and performed regularly. SINCE THERE IS NO AGENCY REGULATING/ MANDATING quality control in the US of dog food manufactured elsewhere , my question is By whom ? May I see the results of the tests? Who is doing the testing?
One treat a day for each dog ( Bichons) and they scarf it down and LOVE it....so the four stars for appeal. I am acting on good faith giving it to them and hoping I am not sorry at a future date. They really do look yummy!!!

(More customer reviews)I have an english bulldog. Training my bully outside to not approach every dog without first being calm was often a challenge. I had tried to utilize numerous treats before with limited sucess at getting her to focus on my command. Plato's thinkers are not only made of great quality ingredients, but the smell and taste is something that most dogs find hard to resist. If you are looking for a great training treat I recommend these highly. Just break them up into small pieces either with a knife or by hand.
These treats have not only worked with her, but with her fellow friends. I constantly refer folks to get this type of treat, when they are looking for a good training treat. And all my friends who have purchased this for their dogs are happy with their purchase.
The larger 24 oz jar is the best because they last longer and the lid prevents them from air exposure which otherwise makese these treats hard.
