Owners beware: you will have to wash your hands after giving them as they are STINKY (the fish and venison flavor especially), and your dogs' breath won't be too pleasant for a while afterward. But for coaxing a dog to do something, these cannot be beaten.

So many of the treats available contain way too many ingredients, many of which are questionable.
I like the fact that they are made in the US and contain at least 90% of what they claim to be.

(More customer reviews)My Rottie has food allergies to poultry, beef, and dairy. I've had a very difficult time finding snacks that don't contain these ingredients. I've been trying different salmon snacks. This product costs a little more than the traditional dog snack, but its got none of the bad ingredients that will make your dog sick (note: its a one pound bag so it lasts a long time). Its all salmon and organic brown rice. They don't smell like traditional dog snacks, they Smell So Good that you may want to try them. Best of all your pup will love them and you're doing something good for him. My pup recognizes the bag and knows that a treat is coming. Note: these are also great for training, they are easily broken into smaller pieces.

(More customer reviews)I'm giving three stars because when I snapped off a piece my rat terrier/chihuahua loved it...but then, she loves everything! My spaniel/chihuahua, well, he ate it but not with any enthusiasm. Kinda played with it a bit. He's a fickle eater with a sensitive stomach. That's why I am here. PLATO DID NOT PROVIDE SERVING SIZE INFORMATION ON THE PACKAGE! Yes, they pat you on the back for taking the time to read their label. But did they read it before printing? Clearly you would give a small dog less than a large dog but how much? I don't know how rich these are and if they'll upset my little ones stomach if I give him a 1/4, 1/2 stick a couple bites? I have no clue! So I attempt to contact the manufacturer (don't even try to do it from their label because it only has a mailing address! ARGH!). This means going online to find them. After finding a phone number and email address I call. Ring...ring...ring..ring...ring...ring...no voicemail..no human! ARGH again! So I resorted to email to ask them what the serving size is. Then receive a return email that it can take up to 3 days for a reply while they make great dog treats. I believe this since they don't answer even their phones! The whole office must be chipping in! Unfortunately, I had no choice but to return them not knowing any info on serving sizes. Thankfully, my pet store will take it back even though it's opened. If you need servings, contact them first. All in all, my one dog gives them 5 stars (she's the one who loves it all!) and the other a mere 2 stars. I give it 0 for not providing the owners the information they need to treat their dog without making them sick :(

Our JRT is very fussy and horribly spoiled.
She turns up her nose and walks away from many treats I've tried.
Most of the "organic" or "healthy" treats I've tried haven't won her over.
She just had one each of the Salmon, Duck and Chicken and LOVED all of them!
I'm thrilled that they are made in the US and contain ingredients I approve of.

(More customer reviews)My friend who shares her life with a Newfoundland gave my Belgian Sheep Dog one of these treats. My dog loved the treats. The Newfie has allergies so she is limited to what she can have. My dog does not have that problem, but I am careful what I feed him.
You can break up the strips into smaller pieces to make them go further or for a quick treat. They don't crumble in your pocket. However, do keep the treats in a baggie in your pocket as the treats had a smell to them. They are not greasy or messy to handle.

(More customer reviews)I have an english bulldog. Training my bully outside to not approach every dog without first being calm was often a challenge. I had tried to utilize numerous treats before with limited sucess at getting her to focus on my command. Plato's thinkers are not only made of great quality ingredients, but the smell and taste is something that most dogs find hard to resist. If you are looking for a great training treat I recommend these highly. Just break them up into small pieces either with a knife or by hand.
These treats have not only worked with her, but with her fellow friends. I constantly refer folks to get this type of treat, when they are looking for a good training treat. And all my friends who have purchased this for their dogs are happy with their purchase.
The larger 24 oz jar is the best because they last longer and the lid prevents them from air exposure which otherwise makese these treats hard.
