(More customer reviews)Wonderful but you have to store them in the fridge to keep them from getting moldy (not in the plastic bags they come in.) Use an airtight container with the little silica packets and I also put a paper towel in the bottom. We bought in bulk so we learned they do not last long in the bags.
We bought both "Happy Hips" and "Breathies" treats for our 5 cats. 1 is diabetic and all are 6-16 years of age. We have tried many types of food to find the best thing for them. They are inside cats and for years we thought Science Diet was "the thing." But when 3 of our cats became diabetic (2 have since passed away) We did more research. We had to find something to prevent diabetes and give them the nutrition best suited to our little predators. We had to settle on a dry food because it was what they liked and it didn't give them any stomach/bowel issues. But they were really having problems with dry skin and it seemed they needed something more. we just were not sure what. We got samples in an order for something else and they went wild over them especially our little diabetic one! Now after a month they all have soft silky fur and no more flakey skin. They also appear to be more lively and overall more healthy. I recommend these products to anyone - even our oldest kitty is more limber.

(More customer reviews)This is the only brand of cat treat my cat will eat but lately the treats are hard and thick, whereas when I first started buying them they were more shaved or slivered. Essentially these are fortified chicken jerky so the thickness and consequent "toughness" of each piece is what I am reacting to. My Burmese is little, with a little mouth (weighs only 7.5 pounds) and he has more trouble with the bigger chunks these are now coming in. I noticed other reviewers have had the same comments for this as well as for Catswell VitaKitty Chicken Breast Treats -- for which I have the same opinion and will leave the same review. At one point I even called the manufacturer directly because the product was so much darker than my last package; they assured me it was a normal variation and was wholesome which I'm sure it was. But I really don't understand why there is such inconsistency in the product and that makes me uncomfortable. And I don't know if that's why my Earth Fare store has stopped carrying them. I can tell you that Simba doesn't like these as much as when they were thinner pieces, but I'm still glad to be giving him 100% meat for a treat.

(More customer reviews)I'm so glad Amazon is selling the kitty treats now (in addition to the doggie version). I have 2 large orange tabby cats, which the vet said are genetically predisposed to hip problems. He said they could have a glucosamine supplement to help with this. I have fed a few treats daily (which they LOVE!) to both cats since they were 6 months old, and have had no hip problems so far. Cats go crazy for these treats and there are a few varieties, so they don't get bored. I also give the flaxseed and vitamin version of the treats, 1 bag to every 2 bags of the happy hips version. One bag lasts a couple of weeks, fed daily per instructions. This price is excellent, especially with the subcribe and save. Our local health food store sells these treats for $4.00 a bag. This is a great way to give a cat vitamin supplements. They willingly (and eagerly) eat them.
