(More customer reviews)Upon peeling off the foil protective seal, I already knew this could not be an "instant delicious pho broth" miracle powder. I followed the instructions accordingly and the broth came out HORRIBLE. You could taste the "complexity" of the spices and a hint of fake beef, but the combination together gave the broth a "dusty" taste (for the lack of a better word) then leaves a slightly bitter after taste. I thought it was worse than the beef-flavored instant ramen broth.
I tried again with some store-bought, low-sodium beef broth. Hopefully it would bring more "beef" taste to it. The broth came out overly salty and even more "fake-beef." Terrible.
I tasted the powder by itself and it does taste a little "dusty." I think perhaps if you make REAL beef broth and use the powder instead of buying 5 different spices, it would be quite handy, but I'm not sure how to get rid of that "dusty" taste.

Bumble Bee Tuna Salad Kits - 9/3.5oz Review

(More customer reviews)I initially purchased a few varieties of the Bumble Bee Salad snack kits to take out deer hunting with me. I was looking for something easy to carry, didn't take up much room, was tasty, and would last for awhile without spoilage.
The kit comes with a 3 ounce can of tuna salad, 6 crackers, and a small plastic paddle to spoon the salad on the crackers. The tuna is in a metal can with a foil lid and the crackers are in a small cellophane (foil looking) pouch. The little plastic piece is just floating around in there.
After being carried and tossed around for a few weeks, I tore open a pack. The crackers did not hold up too well to the abuse and were mostly a stack of pieces and crumbs. The cardboard was splitting open allowing dirt to get inside, but at least the little plastic thing was still in there.
The taste of the salad was actually quite good. I did not think it had an overwhelming fishy smell which could be beneficial if you are eating it in close quarters to others who might not like fish. There is more than enough salad for the crackers which is a nice surprise as most snacks seem to make you ration the spread.
If you are on a diet, this meager snack is definitely not worth the 300 calories. If you are looking for something portable to take on the road, hiking, fishing, hunting, or a snack to send to a soldier in the field, this is a handy, self contained snack. If the packaging was a bit more durable to protect the crackers, I would say this would be pretty close to the perfect field snack.

Nong Shim Shin Cup Noodle Soup Review

(More customer reviews)As far as noodles in a cup goes this is one of the best I've had. Actual recognizable small chunks of dehydrated veggies, mostly mushrooms and onions that I could make out. Descent noodle quality and a very hot and spicy seasoning mix. They don't show it on the picture here but I'm pretty sure this is the hot and spicy cup. It looks exactly like the one I just had but the words 'hot and spicy' are just to the left of the symbol and are not visible in the pic. If you like spicy noodles definitely don't pass this up.

(More customer reviews)I bought a bunch of these when Amazon was running a sale. I love the basil chicken (ga kra prao) that is served at Thai restaurants and have tried to replicate it myself with no luck. I am pleased to say that the sauce included in this product replicates it perfectly.
My tip is to use ground chicken rather than sliced. One sauce packet goes perfectly with 1/2 pound ground chicken. I also prefer jasmine rice rather than the included rice noodles.
Which brings me to the expensive part. If you do what I do, you're basically paying for a packet of sauce. And depending on how much you eat, and how many there are of you, that could mean multiple packets per meal.
Anyway, to sum up, I recommend you give it a try using ground chicken and then decide whether it's ever worth it to buy it again.

They make the picture on the package look appealing but it doesn't look anything like the product inside. Add hot water and wait 3 minutes......doesn't that sound familar? I'd would never waste my money on this stuff again. I can get 3 containers of ramen cup of noodles for 99 cents and it's the same stuff this is.

Yay!), just enough crackers to use without extra after I'm done, a spoon to get the tuna out, a napkin to clean up with, and a mint so I don't smell like tuna all day. Perfect. I keep one in the glove compartment, one in the desk, and one in the bookbag. Best emergency lunch I've found, and this is a pretty great price for 12.

(More customer reviews)Three of the six hard taco shells were chips upon arrival and two of the remaining three had minor damage, so we ended up making taco salad with part of it. The hard shells tasted great when crisped in the oven as directed. Soft shell tortillas were fine. Salsa was minimal quantity, but adequate for tacos (taco salad needed more).
Directions -- What You Need: 1 lb lean ground beef; 8 oz. shredded cheddar (or Mexican blend) cheese; Chopped lettuce and tomatoes; and Sour cream --> it's not a complete meal in a box, but does include: 6 flour tortillas for soft tacos; 6 hard taco shells (see above about breakage); seasoning for the meat; tiny package of salsa; and unsweetended Kool-Aid mix. You brown the meat, drain, add the water they failed to mention above and the seasoning mix, boil, then simmer 10 minutes. MEANWHILE, crisp the hard shells in the oven and warm the soft shells (removed from foil packaging) in the microwave. Total prep time is about 20 minutes.
The Tacos were delicious -- must be the special seasoning packet that's included. At 10 for $25 or so on Subscribe and Save, not a bad deal.

My only caution is that the box is TWO servings, not one, so the calories aren't a nice, low 170 - it's 340 if you eat the whole thing (which is VERY easy to do). I don't know if it should have been named 'Spicy Szechuan' because the paste included is actually made from a Korean dish - gochujang red chili paste - but I found this VERY tasty!
Pros: made in USA, natural ingredients, no MSG or preservatives
Cons: 2 servings as packaged so 340 calories, 58g carbs and 38% of daily sodium.

Contrary to the picture on the package, the contents are nearly half rice, a third refried beans, and a tiny portion of salsa and chicken. I would have given it another star if it had the large chucks of chicken, like the photo.

The store I currently shop at does not carry this product (old shopping store did) so I was quick to buy a six pack. Easy to make - I added additional veggies that I stir fried, then chicken, all the items in the kit and wow it is really good.
I am going to try shrimp and pork when I get the six pack. I also ordered the Wanchai Ferry Cashew Chicken, have not gotten it yet so I'll wait to add a review for the Wanchai Ferry Cashew Chicken.

I added some sweet chili dipping sauce for those that like their satay a bit more spicy. The dressing for the cucumber/carrot/pepper salad was a bit bland and not much is provided in the serving, but it is easy to add other sauce to spice the salad up as well.
