(More customer reviews)I agree with one of the other reviewers in that this stuff is green when it should be white, and it doesn't taste like cheese. It's more like loose mayonnaise, with a similar consistency. Amazon took care of me on my purchase, but I don't recommend this dip.

I have always been a big fan of Mole Sauce, but the stuff you buy in the Grocery Stores never matched the flavor and consistency of what you could get in a Mexican Resturant. This stuff comes as close as you can get. The other Mole sauces commonly sold have a wierd consistency, more like a paste and seem awfully messy. This one is more like a sauce and it comes in a bottle that can be closed and put in the frig so you can use it any time you like. Its a little on the spicy side, but not overwhelming. Great on Thanksgiving turkey left overs.

Serve with homemade beans and rice and everyone will be impressed. Top off the chicken with a few thin slices of raw onion and you have perfection on a plate!

It's so great for a dipping sauce, a condiment, an ingredient, etc. Shipping from TeeBop is excellent too. They've always come wrapped so well in bubble wrap it's almost a battle getting all the bottles unwrapped! It's great, and so much better than the "original" version.

(More customer reviews)I found this once in the store, bought it, and found it to be an excellent mole sauce. It's not especially salty, and the fruit notes really shine through in this. Works well as a late addition or even condiment for roasted meats. The opened jar kept in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I haven't found it in the store again, and have been reluctant to order online due to the price, but it is tasty stuff.

Contrary to the picture on the package, the contents are nearly half rice, a third refried beans, and a tiny portion of salsa and chicken. I would have given it another star if it had the large chucks of chicken, like the photo.

This seasoning has a little cumin in it, so it is good in Mexican food including taco meat. It's a lot better than that packet of orange powder!

They discontinued it, so we Amazon-ed and were pleased to find it here. This soup is great made to order or with all sorts of items added. We put chicken, black beans, corn, 2 small cans of authentic salsa, jalapenos and sometimes leftovers of all sorts into the mix and it is always great. Wonderful winter warmer. Try it, you'll see.

(More customer reviews)Of all the light or healthy versions of canned soups by Campbell's (and others, too), this is my favorite. True, I happen to like most things that are Mexican in flavor, so that's a factor. But after sampling some "diet-friendly" soups that were bland or boring or heavy on the celery flavor (hate that), this was a lovely change.
I've made sure to keep it stocked in my pantry for over a year now.
It's tomatoey brothy, it's got black beans and chicken and rice, but it's not stew-like. It still has plenty of broth, so it's adaptable. I tend to sprinkle some low-fat cheddar on top to add to the flavor and texture. Some days, I'll open a can of black beans and add it for more fiber. When I want to splurge, I add more beans, corn, low fat cheese and a tiny dollop of lite sour cream.
If you have leftover veggies and rice, you can thicken it into a stew. I've done it, and it works.
Some info: One cup has 130 calories. It has 480 mg of sodium per serving, and 2 g of fat--one of those saturated--plus 2 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein.
This is just a fun soup and tasty and a winner from Campbell's. I hope it stays in their line permanently.
A note: The convenient microwavable can version of this doesn't taste as good. It probably has to do with it being cooked IN the can in the nuker, maybe, not sure. But I did notice it tasted "tinny" in that other packaging. I'd recommend THIS can and cooking in a non-reactive pot (ie, stainless steel), because this broth is very tomatoey.

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice soup for those watching calories and wanting a scosh less salt than is usual for Campbell's soups. It's a tomato-based soup with a light dose of rice, black beans, and chicken. It's not thick or chunky. I'd call it a medium-density soup. Enough broth to slurp for those who like a not-stewish soup. Not super hot or spicy, but flavorful all the same.
I find that it's very nice on its own, but I prefer it with more black beans (I just add canned ones) and chopped tomato and a sprinkle of low-fat cheddar cheese. That really makes it into a nice light meal, satisfying and flavorful.
But I think if you like tomato-based soups and a Mexican vibe, this will agree with your taste buds. I consider it a pantry staple for lunch now.
I do find the regular cans of this tastes slightly better. Maybe heating it in the can transfers some of the metal taste. Not sure. But if you can find the regular cans, I'd go that route.
One cup has 130 calories, 3 grams of fiber, 8 grams of protein, 20 grams of carbohydrates, 2.5 grams of fat ( 1 gram of those is of saturated fat.) It also has 480mg of sodium, and 800 of potassium. I add the low-fat (or fat free) cheese for both flavor and to up the protein to balance the carbs.
I hope Campbell's keeps making these. Nice quickie soup.
