I delivered this product to many well known eateries and finally found it in stores. It's one of my secrets to great gravy soups or added flavor to any dish.

(More customer reviews)The best way I've found to diet is to eat reasonably all day and have a can of this soup for supper about twice a week. I generally lose a pound whenever I have this soup and a glass of water for my evening meal. When I need to drop some weight, I have it about twice a week to lose 2 lbs a week. The soup has good flavor on its own, but tastes better when I add a little Italian seasoning. The soup has a tomato broth, is low-sodium, and as far as I know, is dairy-free and gluten-free. It is also high in Vitamin A and makes my skin look great when I eat it regularly. I prefer to buy it from Gristedes because they always send fresh cans. When I have bought it from grocery stores in Dallas, Texas, and Slidell, Louisiana, the cans were old and out of date.

My problem is not with the company or the product but rather with Amazon's shop. I have ordered cases of the beef broth twice from Amazon and both times at least 50% of the cans were significantly damaged. Its as if I was being sold factory seconds. But at a premium retail price. I am very reluctant to buy again because I feel that I am being abused by Amazon's distributor.

(More customer reviews)Pretty much what you taste is...salty brothiness. But there is white meat chicken and a decent amount of both carrots and rice. I find this soup is helpful as a hunger stopgap when I'm trying to cut my calories. It's not hugely flavorful, but it's hot and has few calories and little fat, so it's okay.
I also think it's fine with a sandwich for a soup-n-sandwich type lunch on those days when I'm sick of a tomato-based soup (which tend to be more flavorful, frankly).

(More customer reviews)Of all the light or healthy versions of canned soups by Campbell's (and others, too), this is my favorite. True, I happen to like most things that are Mexican in flavor, so that's a factor. But after sampling some "diet-friendly" soups that were bland or boring or heavy on the celery flavor (hate that), this was a lovely change.
I've made sure to keep it stocked in my pantry for over a year now.
It's tomatoey brothy, it's got black beans and chicken and rice, but it's not stew-like. It still has plenty of broth, so it's adaptable. I tend to sprinkle some low-fat cheddar on top to add to the flavor and texture. Some days, I'll open a can of black beans and add it for more fiber. When I want to splurge, I add more beans, corn, low fat cheese and a tiny dollop of lite sour cream.
If you have leftover veggies and rice, you can thicken it into a stew. I've done it, and it works.
Some info: One cup has 130 calories. It has 480 mg of sodium per serving, and 2 g of fat--one of those saturated--plus 2 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein.
This is just a fun soup and tasty and a winner from Campbell's. I hope it stays in their line permanently.
A note: The convenient microwavable can version of this doesn't taste as good. It probably has to do with it being cooked IN the can in the nuker, maybe, not sure. But I did notice it tasted "tinny" in that other packaging. I'd recommend THIS can and cooking in a non-reactive pot (ie, stainless steel), because this broth is very tomatoey.

The chicken, veggies and noodles are good size and plentiful. When you have neither the time or inclination to make your own soup, this is a satisfying alternative. It is delicious.

Just pop off the metal top, put the plastic lid back on, set the timer for 1:30, and ding...soup's done! Then the best part comes after. - virtually nothing to clean! No pot, no bowl, just a spoon maybe for some of you. I use a plastic one of those too so everything just gets tossed. All food should be packaged this way!

(More customer reviews)This soup is good. I really love this brand of soups..my favorite being the Chicken and Dumplings. Healthy Choice isn't always the best brand when it comes to frozen meals but for some reason they really knocked it out of the park with their soups. I love them, they taste homemade and amazingly better than Campbell's or Progresso. I recommend this, the Chicken and Dumplings, the Split Pea and Ham...in fact, every variety I've tried has been delicious. You can't really go wrong with this.
