I used it to cook asparagus and had rave reviews around the table. Now, I use it as often as possible to put new life into familiar foods. I am very happy with every aspect of the product - the unique flavor, elegant packaging, convenient single-serve stick pouches, and the value for the money. The product packs nicely for camping and backpacking as well. Glad I found this hidden gem!

(More customer reviews)Quick and Easy cups of chicken broth to simply drink and or use for cooking. Normally sold for about .50cents more then what a per pack cost is on Amazon. Great Value, Great Product.....
My only suggestion is...when you boil the water, drop the cube inside the pot....measure 1 cup of course. It will help dissolve it faster and it does taste a bit different that way.

My problem is not with the company or the product but rather with Amazon's shop. I have ordered cases of the beef broth twice from Amazon and both times at least 50% of the cans were significantly damaged. Its as if I was being sold factory seconds. But at a premium retail price. I am very reluctant to buy again because I feel that I am being abused by Amazon's distributor.

Pacific Natural Foods free range low sodium chicken broth contains 70 mg, practically a 10:1 difference! So-called reduced sodium products typically contain 400+ mg. (More customer reviews)Okay, this isn't Gran's made-from-scratch, cooked-all-day, cure-what-ails-you chicken soup (or even broth) but for the eater on a sodium-restricted diet, it's a life saver. Literally. Low sodium food does *not* have to taste bland! Bernard's Chicken Soup Base is a great way to punch up soups, stews, braises, it's even good sprinkled on cooked veg.
Buy a can, see for yourself. If you make it to eat hot as a broth on its own, I would spike the heck out of it with black pepper, dot of hot sauce, some cilantro and parsley. YMMV.

(More customer reviews)I've used this Savory Choice product for over a year and can recommend it highly. It is delicious and easy. Inside each individual packet is a thick liquid: just add it to a cup of water to make the broth. This is not like the low-salt, low-fat powders or the canned products but more like broth you've cooked from scratch. Comes in beef, chicken, and turkey flavors. I keep it handy on my RV as well as in my kitchen.
Update 2010: I'm still ordering and using the chicken broth and the beef broth as staples in my pantry and on the RV. I've given packets away to friends so they can enjoy these excellent products. While cooking, you can squeeze the packet into your food and add the cup of water, then stir. Easy and a big saving in shelf space over cans.

It was a little more expensive there than what they ask for it on Amazon, but I wanted to try something new. The supermarkets here only carry the basic familiar brand bases that you see everywhere. I have to say that after making several varieties of chicken soup with this base that it is the best I have ever used. I love making soup, and I love trying new bases, and I have had perhaps a dozen different kinds in my kitchen over the years. This Master Touch to me seems to be the richest of the bunch and makes a very flavorful soup. Its very aroma when first opening it compared to others is noticeably richer. I used it often in a lot of soups and plan on buying a case of it here when the one I have gets low. If you like soup and prefer a powdered base, try this blend. I've used a lot of them and this one is well worth the little extra cost. Amazon's price for it is better than what you will find at the market, even if you manage to find it. Highly recommended.....And soups on!...

(More customer reviews)I first discoverd the Smithers Chicken Broth concentrate around 10 years ago during a month plus long hospital stay and was on a liquid diet for most of the time. I didn't care that I couldn't have solid food as this stuff is soooo tasty! Over the years I have been hosptialized on numerous occasions and I actually look forward to this stuff. I like it so much I buy it for my home! A word of advice though, it takes two packets to get a large styrofoam cup of hot water the right strenghth. Also you will have to get past the fact that you squeeze the thick jelly-like concentrate out of the packet like fast food jelly. Get over it and stir it up and enjoy. Makes a great late night snack or early morning pick me up.
