My cat was seriously underweight and had an irritated digestive system. My vet recommended this food and not only does my cat LOVE it but she's put back on healthy weight and has more energy than she has had in years. I would HIGHLY recommend it, as it mimics a natural feline diet and has excellent quality ingredients.

They discontinued it, so we Amazon-ed and were pleased to find it here. This soup is great made to order or with all sorts of items added. We put chicken, black beans, corn, 2 small cans of authentic salsa, jalapenos and sometimes leftovers of all sorts into the mix and it is always great. Wonderful winter warmer. Try it, you'll see.

The soup powder portion smelled and tasted like soap. I had to throw away an entire pot of soup. Now I have lots of leftover packages I cannot use.

(More customer reviews)As far as chicken noodle soup box mixes go, Mrs. Grass' is the best. I had this as a kid, and I still like a bowl of it when I'm sick and want something simple.
It's very easy to make, either on the stovetop or in the microwave, and there's something about the flavor egg that makes it more appealing. The broth is really tasty and has real herbs floating in it, so it doesn't feel like it came out of a box.
I have had the Lipton's variety of noodle soup mix, and it paled in comparison. The noodles were smaller and less plentiful, and there was too much broth for me. I'll stick with Mrs. Grass.
As for the reviewer who didn't like the noodles, my guess is that he or she didn't cook them long enough. I usually let them simmer for more than the recommended 5 minutes, and they turn out really nicely. And, no, this isn't exactly healthy or gourmet soup, but it's good when you're sick and need to soothe a sore throat or feed a stomach that's been upset.

(More customer reviews)I was looking forward to this gluten free soup because the picture looks great. It does have a starchy taste which happens when noodles are not rinsed after cooking, they are probably cooking the pasta right in with the soup from the start rather than cook and rinse first. It's hard to find any canned chicken noodle soup gluten free so this is a good start, with canned soup containing pasta starchy soft pasta is probably hard to avoid.
Particularly because rice pasta is extremely starchy I have been partially cooking pasta separately and rinsing and keep in fridge, when heating soup or broth I just add the pasta at the end a couple of minutes prior to eating and it works best. I got the idea from a restaurant serving soups as a gluten free option - they do not put pasta into the soup until just before serving to prevent mushy pasta. I will probably go back to this method for soups with noodles but will definitely try some of the other Gluten Free Cafe soups that do not contain pasta.

(More customer reviews)I think for the money, this is a good food choice. It doesn't have any corn, wheat or soy as fillers, and no by-products, although it does contain rice and barley. If you are concerned about grain you may want to avoid this, although rice is way down the list of ingredients--I think it's the seventh ingredient. Also there is some barley, and potatoes and other vegetables. I buy the hairball version for my boy, since he has had issues with hair ingestion even though he's short-haired. He seems to digest this very well, no throwing up, it gives him nice firm stools about one per day or every other day. This makes cleaning the litterbox MUCH easier. The main reason I rotated away from this food was that I was worried he was allergic to an ingredient. His ear discharge really increased and he was constantly scratching at his ears (it's not mites). So, I tried Natural Balance Venison & Pea and Duck & Pea formulas, which are supposed to be great for allergies. Both of those started him onto a spiral of diarrhea and even vomiting. It was hardly what I expected! So now I'm back to Chicken soup, itchy ears seems like the lesser of two evils and a product called Zymox seems to have relieved the discharge somewhat. I'll be rotating this with several flavors of Eagle Pack Holisitic that I know he can digest well.
