(More customer reviews)Quick and Easy cups of chicken broth to simply drink and or use for cooking. Normally sold for about .50cents more then what a per pack cost is on Amazon. Great Value, Great Product.....
My only suggestion is...when you boil the water, drop the cube inside the pot....measure 1 cup of course. It will help dissolve it faster and it does taste a bit different that way.

(More customer reviews)Loved the fresh made taste of this soup. Broth was my favorite part. If you like chicken noodle then this is the one for you. Great for when you are feeling the flu coming on.
1/3 noodles, 1/3 veggies with little bit of chicken and the rest broth.
I personally picked out the noodles and chicken and just had the broth and tender veggies. The chicken was like most canned soups chewy /hard.
If feeding to small child would reccommend to remove the chicken. Also remove or chop the noodles into smaller pieces, because they are large, think noodles.

(More customer reviews)First of all, I normally go out of my way to write positive reviews and avoid negative ones, but this was SO bad I just had to check in. Imagine the BLANDEST chicken flavored Gerber's baby food and then add some water to it and call it soup. That's what this is. On the bright side though (being stuck with a case), I do have a great opportunity to experiment with some of those free Penzey's spice samples and use up some of the overabundance of summer veggies to make this stuff edible.

(More customer reviews)Progresso's chicken gumbo soup doesn't taste all that great when it comes out of the microwave (or off the stove, if that's your way), but it tastes pretty good. It has white meat chicken, kidney beans, okra, rice, celery, carrot, tomato, and red bell pepper in it, as you can see from the picture on the can. Check the picture I uploaded to see what the soup *actually* looks like in the bowl. The chicken was pretty firm and just right, in my bowl. The gumbo taste isn't bad. You won't feel like you're in Louisiana or Memphis while you're eating it (unless you're actually IN Louisiana or Memphis), but it has the distinctive gumbo taste and is really quite good compared to some of Progresso's other soups. My biggest complaint with this soup is that the green vegetables came out mushy, as they tend to with Progresso soups, I've found. The celery and okra were good, just very soft and mushy, which isn't really what I wanted. It did a pretty good job of filling me up, though, as they pack a whole lot into that can as always. Overall a good soup that I wouldn't mind buying more of if I see it on the shelves sometime.

(More customer reviews)I've made homemade chicken soup, starting from scratch, from the creature that scratches and pecks and smells not-good, that odious ex-dinosaur, a live chicken. They are a pain in the thing that needs fiber bars FiberPlus Antioxidant Bars, Dark Chocolate Almond, 5-Count Bars (Pack of 12), and now I prefer this delicious alternative. This tasty Progresso soup is great, especially if you lack time to boil a chicken. Simply add a dash of thyme and rosemary to achieve a homemade flavor. But beware, the cans may implode on shipment, due to the cheaper style of thin metal that dents more easily, and pull-tops that may pop open. You just don't want your soup to arrive battered, dented, opened, and soggy due to poor can design and the normal bumps of shipment/transport, you want to eat it. Enjoy.

Progresso World Recipes Soup, Tortilla y Pollo (Chicken Tortilla), 18.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) Review

(More customer reviews)As someone who eats soup almost every night during the fall and winter, I was pleased to see our local grocer carrying several of the new Progresso World Recipes Soup. Unfortunately, the two varieties I have tried have been a real disappointment. Like the Black Bean Jalapenos, the Tortilla y Pollo's seasoning is heavy on the chili powder and not much else. Although a bit milder than the Black Bean Jalapenos, the Tortilla soup's broth is really little different in taste or consistency.
There is little in the way of meat or vegetables in this particular soup which caused me to rate the product as deserving only two stars. The can I opened had about six pieces of chicken, each measuring about 3/4" X 1/4" X 1/4"; a handful of black beans, a few corn kernals, and a piece or two of pepper. I found this soup to be a significant departure from Progresso's usual quality ingredients and flavor combinations.
In producing this soup, Progresso has committed a common error - assuming the flavors of Mexico and Tex-Mex foods are limited to chili powder; in the case of the Tortilla soup, there were not even pieces of jalapeno pepper thrown in to lend "authenticity" to the product. I suggest Progresso review "Los Barrios Family Cookbook: Tex-Mex Recipes from the Heart of San Antonio" by Diana Barrios Trevino for the true flavors of Tex-Mex cooking. If attempting to produce a soup which reflects only Mexico's flavors, then Rick Bayless' "Authentic Mexican: 20th Anniversary Edition: Regional Cooking from the Heart of Mexico" would be an excellent resource for Progresso to use.
If you are looking for a soup that combines interesting layers of flavor and multiple ingredients, you would do well to look elsewhere. This soup reflects neither the flavors of Tex-Mex cooking or Mexican cooking. If Progresso's other World Recipes Soups are as disappointing as the two I have already sampled, I may be changing my brand loyalty when it comes to soup.

(More customer reviews)When I think of Chicken Pot Pie I drool over the chicken and vegetables and pie crust along with the delicious gravy. Now take all that away and add FAT noodles instead. That is what is in this terrible soup.....just fat noodles. It does have a nice flavor but I soon realized that, after not having a migraine in over a year, it was this soup that caused me to have a migraine for two days. The large amount of 'yeast extract', in other words MSG, that is in it caused my migraine. How can an ORGANIC soup have such an artificial chemical neurotoxin in it and still be considered organic? I will donate the remaining cans to the food pantry and hope they like 'noodles' and MSG. I will never purchase this soup nor this brand again but be my guest and give it a try. I think you'll regret it though.

With this particular item had it in California where it was readily available here on East coast not at all. Found it once and never again and since it was super market item asked for it to be ordered only to be told if it's not in the wharehouse we don't open 'new' orders.
Just on a lark checked here and here it is. Ordered a case.
Love it best canned soup I ever tasted-why because it parallels the taste of the homemade cream of turkey soup my mom used to make. What a find!

The mix is chock full of very good noodles and vegetables in an excellent broth. I added a generous cup of cubed, already cooked chicken strips to up the protein content for a full meal. Serve the soup plus a salad with some really good bread, and you're good to go. This mix puts the big name brands to shame.

Let's face it, in most cases, nothing beats homemade soup, especially good chicken soup. However, Campbell's Chunky Healthy Classic Chicken Soup comes close to the real thing. The broth is hearty and the vegetables are plentiful. I love the wider noodles which give the soup substance and makes for a filling meal. Best of all, it's quick and easy to prepare and helps detour hunger pains when you are on a weight loss plan. For a "healthy" version of chicken soup, this product passes the test for quality and taste.
