(More customer reviews)Upon peeling off the foil protective seal, I already knew this could not be an "instant delicious pho broth" miracle powder. I followed the instructions accordingly and the broth came out HORRIBLE. You could taste the "complexity" of the spices and a hint of fake beef, but the combination together gave the broth a "dusty" taste (for the lack of a better word) then leaves a slightly bitter after taste. I thought it was worse than the beef-flavored instant ramen broth.
I tried again with some store-bought, low-sodium beef broth. Hopefully it would bring more "beef" taste to it. The broth came out overly salty and even more "fake-beef." Terrible.
I tasted the powder by itself and it does taste a little "dusty." I think perhaps if you make REAL beef broth and use the powder instead of buying 5 different spices, it would be quite handy, but I'm not sure how to get rid of that "dusty" taste.

(More customer reviews)Happy Pho is fantastic. Delicious, healthy AND easy to make. I've made the soup and I've used the noodles alone in stir-fry. Both were delicious.
I traveled to Vietnam a couple years ago and have been a big fan of pho ever since. When a friend mentioned Happy Pho to me, I went ahead and ordered some. Healthy Pho I can make at home?? I'm in. Keep in mind that I'm a bachelor and don't do a lot of cooking.
The first time i wanted to make it, I realized i didn't have a few of the basic ingredients that it calls for. So I just stir-fried the noodles with broccoli. The noodles are made from whole grains yet only 2 minutes to boil? A healthy bachelor's dream. In fact, since then I figured out that its pretty easy to just cook them straight in the wok. But I digress.. The noodles were delicious! The tastiest noodles i can recall making at home.
Ok, second time around I went all out and made the Pho soup. I rarely cook for other people, but i had someone coming over so figured we'd eat in, and I'd cook Happy Pho. I felt like Kung Fu Pandd making my delicious secret soup! I was a little nervous, since i hadn't tried the spice pack. Well, it was delicious too. My friend and I both loved it, and it only took about 10 minutes to do everything..
Its a keeper! I can easily see it becoming one of my healthy bachelor staples.

(More customer reviews)My family lovees to eat pho and since we are on a gluten free diet, we decided to try Happy Pho since it got rave reviews. We were so excited when the box came on our front porch but our excitement was short-lived. The spice packet was awful. It tasted old and bitter (alot of cardamon). I don't mind cardamon, but it tasted off. On the plus side, the noodles were good, but it is awfully expensive to buy it just for the noodles. We bought fresh ingredients as suggested and squeezed alot of lime, but it didn't help any. We ended up throwing away the spice packets and used the noodles to make other things.

(More customer reviews)So happy I found this product, as is my whole family. These noodles cook quickly (one minute) and are versatile enough to serve in many different ways. I have added them to soup, served with tamari, tofu, and vegetables, and next intend to put in spring rools (rice wrappers). They hold together well but can get very sticky if you overcook them. For best results add a bit of oil (or rinse well) after cooking so they are less apt to stick together. Good nutritional value overall, and very tasty.

(More customer reviews)believe all the 5-star reviews, this broth is restaurant quality...I'm thinking some restaurants are using this broth???
Make sure you buy all the additions (greens, beef slices, bean sprouts, hot peppers, siracha, hoison sauce, etc...)
Only thing I would modify is to add more water. It's a little salty for my taste. Water it down. So, one package suggests 2 gallons of water...I would add an additional gallon of water. Or whatever you like to get it just right.
But it is awesome, it's got the aroma of Pho, it's semi-oily at the top of the broth...I mean...good, good, good!!!
