Not "screaming" hot, but just right for those who like a bit of a "kick" to their sauces. Highly recommend for chicken. Also excellent on pork.

The most delicious sauce from Thailand. Mae Pranom is the true original brand known to all Thai people and offered in corner stores & vendor carts throughout the country. Mae Pranom dipping sauce is more robust and has slightly higher chile heat than Mae Ploy brand (Mae Ploy brand is more familiar outside of Thailand due to marketing). Especially delicious as a dipping sauce for any kind of chicken, but also goes well with shrimp, fish cake, spring roll, sausage etc. We love this sauce and highly recommend it. Yellow Curry (Kang Karee) Paste Thai Maesri 4 Oz. Review

(More customer reviews)I use this to replicate a Vietnamese curry I grew up with:
To a large pot add the following:
1 can of Karee Curry Paste with 1 can (14 oz) of coconut milk, 2-3 cups water, 3lbs of chicken, 2 large or 3 medium potatoes (cut to bite-sized cubes) and 2-3 carrots (same as potatoes), 1 large onion (cut into quarters), and a few whole jalepenos (remove the stem). You can also add a stick of lemongrass. You can also substitute coconut milk with regular milk, and eggplant for the chicken (veggie option).
Bring to boil then simmer for 20-30 minutes. Add corn starch to bring the soup to its desired consistency. I like it thicker and stew-like. Salt+MSG to taste. You will need MSG to bring the flavor out - I use 1 part MSG per 1 part salt.
Server over rice or with french bread. You can spritz in some lime (my parents always do) but I like it without the lime.
I'm lazy so this does end up over cooking the chicken a bit, but it ensures the potatoes and carrots are soft and mushy the way I like them - plus no extra steps. Make sure the water covers the chicken. Chicken breast seems to dry out, leg quarters stay tender. If you use eggplant I like to use larger chunks (1.5" or so) since they tend to mush up a bit.
Anyways I love this curry paste. I would get "curry pangs" and have to make this every couple weeks while I was in college. So easy to do and it would feed me for a few days.

(More customer reviews)I have used this for quite a few years and LOVE this sauce. It ain't cheap, but it is SOOOOOOOO tasty! Simple recipe for tonight:
6-10 boneless skinless chicken breasts and 2 bottles of this sauce.
Pour sauce over breasts in a 9x13 or other baking dish. Cover, bake at 350 degrees for one hour and you're set. We serve this with rice and broccoli and use the sauce as a "gravy" on the whole plate of food.
The sauce is a smooth, spicy peanut sauce with a sesame undertone that is just fabulous. It is the best one we've tried, and you could add a little water or coconut milk, but it is about the "heat" of medium salsa, not super hot. You're gonna love it!

Just get the green Mae Ploy curry paste, some Asian basil, and some coconut milk. A little salt, sugar, chicken, some bamboo shoots and rice were the only other things I would need to make it. Well, I couldn't believe it was really THAT simple, but it was! The paste imparts several subtle and delicious flavors to the curry. Tastes like you slaved for hours. I never have leftovers when I make this curry. The paste is so low priced I plan to stock up so I'll always have some on hand. Plus-- no preservatives, no wierd ingredients. It's all food stuffs, albiet some of the ingredients I don't recognize... what is a galangal? Whatever it all is, sure tastes good!

(More customer reviews)Every time I make this for guests, it gets rave reviews. I use chicken breast tenderloins and cook that with sauteed onions. Boil up some bok choy till tender and throw that in when you add the seasoning (I use the whole packet for one pound of chicken) and coconut milk. Serve with white rice for a sure winner every time.

(More customer reviews)Yeah I agree, I've been using this for years and when the local stores quit carrying it (for whatever reason they do stuff like that), I was glad to see it here, and loaded up. By the time you cook your rice this will be more than ready, and it's a great sauce base to start from if you want to use half at a time. Somehow they lucked out and managed to get the flavors just right, and they haven't mucked it up since.

My favorite way to make it is to bring it to a simmer and add chicken breast, so that it cooks in the soup. Sometimes we add a small can of corn, and sometimes, some fresh basil shredded on top at the end. It's absolutely delicious!!!!!! Enjoy!!

I add shrimps and baby corns and broccoli (sometimes a little cooked rice) and it's a super fast cold (or hot) weather meal in minutes. If you like Thai food, don't hesitate to try it.

(More customer reviews)If you like Thai food or peanuts and slight-to-medium spicy food.....this is a product I highly recommend. This product is a dry coating that sticks to moist meat.
I use it with skinless/boneless chicken breasts....and let it cook for 40 minutes or so covered at 350degF, and the last ten minutes take the cover off, lower the heat to 325degF and let the juices condense to a syrupy consistency that your guests/family can spoon over potatoes (mashed or baked or sweet). Careful, it burns easily past a certain point. I was so glad when I saw this product available on Amazon as not many markets carry this product and while you must buy 12 packs, it is about 30% less than buying the individual packs at the market. The packets are foil, so the product will have a long shelf life. I have been using it for five years and my family and friends always compliment me on the meal. This product is the REAL DEAL...trust me.

(More customer reviews)While the restaurants always do it best, these curry pastes are pretty tasty. It's easy to use, fast, and you can add the meat and veggies of your choice. For those of you scared of something spicy, you might use a little less, but for most, it's just right, and for those that like it spicier, you can add a little crushed red pepper. Since the coconut milk has to be added separately, you can also control the fat content--you can go light or go with the much yummier, creamy stuff. For the price, you can't do better--it's affordable, easy, and fun to make!
The panang curry has a nice mellow flavor with some spice and goes quite well with seafood. Some great compliments to this sauce: scallops, shrimp, squid, and fish; if you add all of these, you get an insanely tasy, luxurious meal. Another thing you can do is add a hint of thai basil to cook with all this--it gives it an extra authentic feel and works well with the overall dish!
