This gives everything you put it on that smoked bar-b-q flavor.
It does have a little bit of a bite, but it is delicious.

McCormick Grill Mates Pork Rub (3.46 oz) Review

You ought to get you some of this!
A robust pork rub which enhances the flavor of pork baby back ribs on the grill or in the oven.
Simply rub a tablespoon or so over the ribs [both sides], wrap them in foil, and bake at 375 degrees F for roughly 1 hour. Ribs are done but you may wish to broil for a minute or two on each side.
Yum!
Hope your grocery carries it. Look for it in the spice aisle. Ours did and then quit for some reason although they still carry the McCormick Grill Mates Chicken rub. Equally delicious!

This sweet, smoky blend of chili peppers, savory spices and herbs give meat a bold, flavorful curst that seals in juices. Directions:Rub generously on meat before grilling (about 2 tbsp. per 1 lb.).Also great on chicken and in butter to season corn!

These spice mixes are GREAT. They last a long time and definitely provide some nice flavor to the dish of your choice. Tried the multipack to see what some of the other spice mixes were like and wasn't disappointed.

To use Magic Seasoning Blends in Chef Pauls recipes simply add up the amount of dry herbs and spices called for in the recipes "Seasoning Mix". Substitute the appropriate blend (for example, if you were doing a chicken dish, youd substitute Poultry Magic) in the proportioned amounts for each cookbook listed below:
Substitute approximately ¾ the amount for Chef Paul Prudhommes "Seasoned America" CookbookSubstitute approximately ½ the amount for Chef Paul Prudhommes "Fork In The Road" CookbookSubstitute approximately the same amount for Chef Paul Prudhommes "Fiery Foods That I Love", "Louisiana Kitchen", "Kitchen Expedition", and "Louisiana Tastes" cookbooks
If a recipe calls for a sweet spice or an unusual ingredient subtract the amount of sweet or unusual spice prior to adding up the dry herb seasoning mix, then add back the subtracted ingredient(s) to the Magic Seasoning Blends amount required for the conversion.

I discovered this seasoning ten years ago. A local grocery store sold this item on a regular basis. When they closed I tried searching other stores with no luck. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. I use this rub for chicken and other foods. I also add it to a homemade mashed potato recipe to add a different zip to it. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Tom Douglas Chicken Rub Review

Tom Douglas Chicken Rub

As an avid cook and spice mix experimenter, my hat is off to Chef Tom and his 'Spice Girls' for creating a world-class chicken spice. This is one tangy and flavorful mix that blows the doors off anything similar one could find at a supermarket. Primary notes are paprika and brown sugar, but what my nose smells first is ancho chile and star anise.
This mix creates a light crust on the food and colors it brilliantly red. Surprisingly, it's also very good on the 'heavier', red-fleshed fish like salmon. Highly recommended along with Chef Tom's other standout product, Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub.

Tom Douglas ""Rub with Love"" Chicken Rub is a fragrant blend with hints of star anise, cinnamon, coriander and ancho chille, this is a great rub for roasting a whole bird or grilling chicken, turkey, rabbit or seafood.Tom and his wife Jackie own 5 of Seattle's most remarkable restaurants - Dahlia Lounge, Etta's, Palace Kitchen, Lola and Serious Pie. Our restaurants have also inspired a product line. Rub with Love has a great story: When we opened our seafood restaurant Etta's in 1995, the menu featured a signature salmon dish that was dry rubbed. The rub combined brown sugar, smoked chilies, and a hint of thyme to evoke the alder smoked salmon the Pacific Northwest is famous for. The dish became so popular (and still is) that people began asking for rub to use at home. After selling in hand packed zip lock bags for a few years, we introduced the Tom Douglas Rub with Love rub line in 1999. The rest is history?A great selling point for Rub with Love Spice Rubs is their fast prep time. A quick sprinkle and rub 5-10 minutes prior to cooking is all the time it takes. Our spice rubs marry with the juices of whatever you're flavoring to form a delicious glaze. In just 10 minutes, you're ready to cook! You can grill, bake, barbecue or sauté with Rub with Love Spice Rubs.Chef inspired, restaurant tested, quick, easy and delicious, our rubs have become staples in our customers' pantries.
