I looked for it in stores and couldn't find it. That's when i turned to the internet and ordered a case. It is so simple to make and tastes delicious--even better than the canned gravies. Brown some ground sausage and mix it in or leave it plain-either way a real treat.

(More customer reviews)I have been using this Peppered Gravy Mix for years. I found it at a Wonder Bread discount store at least 15 years ago. It is the best you could ever make. I always made from scratch, but I believe this is even better. Unless I tell them, no one knows it wasn't made from scratch. So easy, and can use it for pork sausage, chicken, even ground beef. If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing. Good price, best taste.

The first brand that I tried made much of being "stone ground", but the texture when cooked was too coarse for the dish. These Arrowhead Mills Organic Yellow Corn Grits were my second purchase, and they have the perfect texture. They cook quickly and are full of good corn flavor. Highly recommended.

There is only one difference: All Natural mix uses natural real vanilla and it is only sold in retail packages. The Original mix uses artificial vanilla flavoring. That's it! The taste for both products is the same: Great! Natural is our choice.
In our opinion, the mix makes great pancakes and excellent waffles. The malted flaver is more distinct in the pancakes. Enjoy!

(More customer reviews)I wondered when Amazon might get around to offering this product. I've loved eating these basic fried and dehydrated noodles for decades, and will be glad to order them by the case. These simple noodles are great with tons of Tabasco--quick and satisfying.
The instructions are plain silly, though. My family has always prepared these noodles this way: 1. boil water in a pot, 2. add in the soup base, 3. add in the noodles, and then cook them together till the noodles are soft enough to eat (I like them slightly undercooked). Cooking the noodles in the soup base makes them taste better. Do not overcook, and do not let noodles sit in soup for too long while eating (e.g., longer than half an hour), or noodles will become too soft and fat.
Then I pull the noodles out first and douse them with hot sauce--so the hot sauce will cling to the noodles as well as the soup--and then pour in the soup. That vinegary Tabasco taste mixed with the salty noodles and soup is very good. The noodles are also good with an egg--cracked into the pot after the soup base, and cooked together with the noodles.

(More customer reviews)I have been buying this product since I discovered it at Costco, and recently discovered it on Amazon. I find this to be a versatile and extremely useful ingredient in many foods I prepare ... casseroles, soups, stews, any non-sweet that requires flavor and liquid. It has the additional health benefits of chicken soup, and may be used in hot soup drinks for flu and colds. It makes an exceptional baked brown rice side dish when paired with Himalayan Pride Basmati Rice, which is also available here. I may sound like a salesman for this stuff, but I have made my own organic broths from vegetables and bones, and it takes a lot of time and care. For a prepared product, this has good flavor and versatility. And it is not canned, another large health plus - no leached metals, additives, or plastic liner contamination.
I can't testify to the shipping practices of the various postal services. I have received damaged products in the past, and it was the responsibility of the seller to package them properly, and it is the responsibility of the shipper to handle the goods properly. Usually, it seems to be the brutal treatment of the shipper in question, which means the seller must be notified. Amazon stands by their products, so I buy a lot from them. When I have had a problem, they promptly took care of it. I find I am buying more from them every month, and will do so as long as they are honest with me, as I am with them.
