(More customer reviews)I received one of these meals after Hurricane Rita. They were being handed out by first responders to people in the area before our utilities were restored. Excellent product. I wanted more so I could stock up in case of another disaster or emergency. I found their website and discovered that they were not for sale over the internet. I was very disappointed...until today. I went back to their website and saw that the meals are now available from amazon! This is great news! I suggest that everyone stock up on these meals in case of emergencies. They really come in handy.

(More customer reviews)These taste surprisingly great for MRE or even compared to any ready to cook meals from the frozen aisle. Additionally, the cook in box really works great. Even if you don't plan to get lost in the woods or have a natural disaster, you're kids (8+) will get a kick out of making this for themselves and learning about the (Safe) chemical reaction of salt water and magnesium to cook the thing. Good food and Good Science!

(More customer reviews)This chicken is amazing. I cooked it at about 340* for 20 minutes and it came out perfect. My children loved it. The hard coating on the outside was a bit rough to get through but the amazing inner-copper veins of the chicken meat really tasted great. A good buy all around.

(More customer reviews)This is consistently good-quality, tasty chicken. Why only four stars? Well, even though it's good, it still has the taste of canned chicken. I can't blame Tyson, I have never had chicken out of a can or pouch that tasted as good as fresh-cooked chicken, and I don't think that's even possible.
NOTE: The current Amazon price for this item at the time of this review, $42.86 per 12 pouches or $3.57 per 7-oz pouch, is significantly higher than my nearby grocery store charges ($2.64 per 7-oz pouch or $31.68 for 12 of them.) This is their regular, everyday price, not a sale price. (I did not base my star rating on price, only on the product itself.)
Amazon used to always have the best prices but nowadays, you have to price-compare everything you buy here.

(More customer reviews)I have used this in many different ways and I like its ease of use and the fact that its a pantry item.
That said, it doesnt have the texture of fresh cooked chicken and Ive found it best in things where its either mixed with something - like a chicken salad - or added into soup.
I dont think it works well where a genuine chicken texture would be wanted (ie a stir fry or a chunky item where the chicken is in large peices)
I think this is a very good item and worth having; just be aware that it isnt a perfect substitute for fresh cooked.
