Have you noticed that everything is getting smaller, so you're actually paying more. Now if we could get all the manufactures to stop trying to fool the consumer in their getting the same product, would be nice. It is every where but milk. Have you seen OJ today. It is suppose to be a half gallon, but they don't really give you it. They slimmed the packaging down to fool everyone.

Even if you don't plan to get lost in the woods or have a natural disaster, you're kids (8+) will get a kick out of making this for themselves and learning about the (Safe) chemical reaction of salt water and magnesium to cook the thing. Good food and Good Science!

(More customer reviews)I recently had the opportunity to sample all of the Bridgford Stay Fresh Sandwiches. These sandwiches have a 3 year shelf life and average about 300 calories each. I warmed them in the microwave for 30 seconds. The BBQ chicken was one of my favorites. The bread in these sandwiches is fresh and delicious. It has the density of a flat bread but it's soft and white and tastes a bit like a hamburger bun. The filling was a bit dry but tasted very good, like BBQ chicken should taste. It was appetizing and this sandwich would make a filling snack for a hike or in an emergency situation, especially if you're the type of person (like me) who craves the satisfaction of bread.

(More customer reviews)I don't normally care for soup mixes, but thought a single serving mix was worth trying, especially for 150 calories per serving. I was pleasantly surprised by the full flavor of these soups. They are a little thin, but still flavorful, and they don't have that 'processed' taste a lot of mixes have. They are high in sodium, but that's nothing new for a soup. Just be careful with the rest of the daily menu so it all balances out. The red chili and the green chili soup mixes are perfect with a cup or two of chopped broccoli thrown in. I tried broccoli in the tortilla soup but it wasn't a good mix. I may try adding chopped squash or some other veggie instead.
My package was leaking powder when it arrived. Several of the packets were not sealed properly and had leaked out. Comida Loca customer service was genuinely concerned and very attentive and sent a replacement. I've also ordered another box from Amazon.

(More customer reviews)First of all, don't be put off by the price. If you've kept track of grocery store receipts lately or the sharp increase in basic foods over the last year, you may see how this product could save you time, gas and MONEY.
At the time of this writing, it cost about $16.88 for four packages of this mix. EACH package easily serves 8-16 people with soup left over.
While the instructions note to add 4 cups of water or a water and broth combo, we quickly discovered we had to double or even triple the liquid added. No problem there, because we had more soup!
If you don't have fresh veggies or spices around, this will suffice as is and it is thick and satisfying. If you garden, you'll improve the taste by adding fresh chopped parsley, garlic and whatever veggies you want. A can of tomatoes (or fresh, chopped ones) does no harm. This is a mix you can play with, add ingredients and spices.
IMPORTANT: this is not a salted mix. It is full of split peas, barley, lentils, whole wheat pasta, dehydrated spinach, tomato, onion, etc. If you don't use salt, consider adding a salt substitute. I also added basil. It was delightful, quick and is now a pantry staple.
Nutrition: 330 calories (1/2 cup) only 20 calories from fat. Significant source of iron at 22% of the Daily Value. Protein: 20 grams. Fiber - 8 grams. Add some bread and you have a meal, rounded out with some greens, perhaps.
