It gives her the same benefits as her previous diet, but without ruining her future health. She loves the dry and canned food and often has to protect it from the finicky cat.

(More customer reviews)I mix three spoons of this in with my very picky borzoi's dry food every morning and evening, and she actually eats the entire bowl. Hallelujah! It is so hard to get my dog to eat. I feed the dry version of this food and my other dog (an akita) loves it, but my borzoi needs the wet to "tempt" her.
So I recommend this product to anyone who has a picky dog. You don't need a ton of it, just a few spoons, and wa-la! Your dog will eat.

My dog is my life and I would have been devastated to know I had fed her something that would have caused the suffering and anguished death and illness that many of these pets had been forced to endure. So, I started to look around and found it appalling that there was such little oversight in pet food manufacture and control regarding ingredients and labelling. I knew that it was NOT natural for dogs who had been carnivores for thousands of years to be eating all this processed "scrap" and bonemeal - no matter how the companies tried to "re-label" it. I also though, knew how critical it was for animals to get critical micro-nutrients in appropriately balanced levels and it could be equally devastating for someone uneducated in animal nutrition to think that they could just 'home-cook' meals which could leave gaping holes in these essential minerals, vitamins and micro-nutrients; not to mention the ratios of fats, oils, proteins that the animals need. So, I was searching for a company I could TRUST! I found Merrick and have not turned back! We have never been happier and use both Grammy Pot Pie Kibble as well as some of the canned dog food cans! The cans are ironically enough - filled with ingredients that you can read and UNDERSTAND. You can also go to their website and find out what any ingredient that may sound 'foreign' really is and why they used it - I found out they were almost always a natural ingredient that is an alternative to a processed chemical. I also found it comforting that particularly with the canned food I could open it and RECOGNIZE ingredients like a potato looking like a suprise, POTATO! Or a pea, carrot, etc. My dog LOVES this merrick food and has never been healthier! Our vet constantly comments on her blood work levels coming back at "perfect levels" and she is almost 9. Her coat is really healthy and probably what is noticed by most pet owners and yet not the most 'pleasant' aspect to discuss, is that she has almost NO gas (I don't give her much if any people food either) but when she is given other brands she can be really hard to sit near on ocassion :) . I think the phrase you get out what you put in applies here as well... I will not switch from Merrick food - ever! My only regret is that I did not start feeding my little four-legged one Merrick sooner!

(More customer reviews)We have been feeding this to our dogs for over a year. Over the past few months, we have had a problem with the cases of Grammy's Pot Pie cans. Some cans were full of chunks of fat and a thick lard-like gravy with no veggies, and some cases were fine with chicken and veggies,etc. What happened to truth in labeling? We also had the problem with the cans being only half-full sometimes. Our dogs were getting bad diarhea from the fat in the food so we had to stop giving them Merrick.
They need to start testing their food again. It used to be great. Look at the old reviews from last year and before.

(More customer reviews)I did alot of research on dog foods and Merrick was one of the brands rated very well. My minpin Hudson is very picky about his food but he ran into the kitchen as soon as i opened the can. I mix a little in with his dry dog food and he devours it. i was suprised when i first opened the can because it looked watery and there were whole chicken wings with bones and all not what your accustume to when you open a can of dog food. However, the chicken wings fall apart easily and are very soft the bones literally turn to mush. It looks like whole chicken wings in gravy that have cooked in the crock pot allday and it smells wonderful. I have tried other high quality brands and he would quit eating them after a day or two. He eats this every time and it looks like homemade food that I would eat. His coat is glistening and soft and he has great energy. I can't wait to try the other flavors I'll let you know if he likes them. I'm going to switch his dry food to merrick when his Inova is gone.

With the middle shipments the food was cut in little slices but still had a thick gravy. The last shipment the food was mush with running gravy. I cancelled my subscription.

(More customer reviews)My 11 dogs love this so I say it is great! The tiny ones (toy poodles) get the almost straight food. The others get this mixed with their Bil-Jac. I am impressed with the ingredients. Not full of corn! Another thing I noticed... Every time I have fed my dogs any brand of straight canned dog food, with the exception of Science Diet, they had diarrhea. Not with this one. Not even one of them had it. That's a good thing. I ordered two more cases and will continue. The price is reasonable too and free shipping with Amazon Prime or free shipping with purchase over 25.00.

UPDATE: I vary the amount I use in their meals, and I also use other Dogswell Happy Hips and Vitality canned food (the lamb and the duck). Instead of 1/2 can per meal I will often add more dry food and use just 1/4 can per meal per dog mixed with dry (they love Wellness Core Reduced Fat dry food, which is highly palatable on its own as well) instead of a half can per dog, depending on how much of the dry food I'm giving them. With this stuff mixed in with the dry food and the wild salmon oil, they go crazy for it every time. They even love it cold. One of my dogs is supposed to drink a lot of water, so I started to add a little bit of hot water with the dry and wet mix sometimes, and they seem to really enjoy it like that as well.

It's also free of all those grains and carbs that they fill up other dog foods with -- like corn (which dogs can't digest anyway), soy, etc. If you have a dog who is diabetic (and lately diabetes is as much an epidemic among dogs as it is among people), Blue Buffalo is essential to you. Since we started our 6 year old diabetic pug on Blue Buffalo Wilderness, his blood glucose levels have stabilized, he has lost weight, his overall health has improved and he has more energy. Prior to finding this dog food we had been making his food ourselves and with two other dogs and two cats, that ain't easy! Thank you Blue Buffalo for creating a product that diabetic canine parents can give their dogs without worrying about a bad impact on our dog's health.
And, please ignore the poor review left for this product which was actually a criticism of Amazon's packaging. That is an inappropriate product review -- it has NOTHING to do with the quality of this product and should not be posted at all.

(More customer reviews)My parents were having issues getting their Yorkie to eat Wellness dry and so was I with my Yorkie. They would eventually eat, but it was dragging down their routines. According to the Whole Dog Journal, Wellness Canned Dog Food Chicken and Sweet Potato Recipe is a great food for your dog. The article stressed how gone are the days where wet food was worse for a dog than dry. As long as it's a good, quality food, the wet is actually better for dogs than the dry. I mix the wet with the dry and our Yorkies lap it down quick. I can also hide my Yorkie's morning pill with it and she doesn't realize she's taking her medicine.
