(More customer reviews)Aidells makes great sausage, and I am from Wisconsin and grew up on Sheboygan bratwurst. My favorite of all of the Aidells flavors is the Artichoke & Garlic. I love this one, and it is lower in fat content - really quite reasonable for a sausage - than the other flavors.

Every time I prepare artichokes I am reminded of a small farm in the Basilicata region in Southern Italy that my wife Nancy and I once visited. A friend recommended that we go spend a day at this farm. As we pulled up to the little farmhouse the farmer came out to meet us. We were immediately invited to sit down with his family to a hearty lunch of juicy roasted chicken with sweet fragrant roasted garlic and a big plate of orecchiette pasta with his own marinated artichokes. When we finally got to see the fields of artichokes, it was three days later. Lunch had led to dinner and so on and so on, in the style that Southern Italinas are famous for. We eventually left clutching jars of the farmer's marinated artichokes whose aroma continues to remind us of this generous farmer in the south of Italy and the three days of good eating that inspired this sausage.
