(More customer reviews)The Hormel Ham salad kit is just like all the other lunch "kits" out there. It includes a "mixing cup", spoon, sweet relish, light mayo, crackers and of course ham.
Upon first opening the can of ham, I was a little disappointed to see that the meat had the consistency of SPAM, but as I chopped it up in the cup, the ham texture we're all familiar with became apparent and the stand-alone taste and texture were actually better than I expected. But even with that, adding the relish and the light mayo didn't add too much to the "salad". It was a tasty snack, but nothing to go wow over. For those of us from the old school days of Vienna sausage and canned ham spreads, though, this is a major upgrade.
The crackers were the biggest surprise of all as they weren't your typical butter Ritz-type crackers, but delicious, seasoned crackers that added to the overall taste of the salad.
Positives:
Ham has a good flavor and texture
Kit is convenient and lightweight
Makes a good snack
Negatives:
A bit pricey coming from Amazon. At the time I purchased this with "Prime" shipping, the cost was still around $2.25 per unit. Considering you can get a decent burger for the same price, the only saving grace with this product is it's handy if you can't make a run for the drive-thru.
Small portion. This kit should really be called a "snack kit". You'll definitely want to offset it with fruit or a cup of soup, which only increase the overall price of your lunch. Not very economical if you're trying to pinch pennies by not going out to lunch.
The spoon is tiny, too tiny to really chop up all that ham goodness, leaving the chunks too big for a well-blended salad. So if you can grab some standard size plasticware, do so before sitting down to lunch.
Breakroom factor. If you're purchasing this because your co-workers are complaining about the smell of your tuna lunch-kit, this really isn't all that much better as the ham has a pretty strong scent that may be unpleasant for some. It wasn't for me.
Overall
Would I purchase it again? Sure. I love ham and it helps with the ham cravings I occasionally get between Easter and Thanksgiving.

(More customer reviews)Although I'm not particular fond of figs, I bought this sauce/marinade on the advice of a total stranger I met at a Long Island, NY winery. He told me how unbelievable it was on steak, and, boy, was he right! I've used it on steak as a dipping sauce and I've barbequed with it. I've used it on pork and chicken and have had it accidentally soak up into my side dish on my plate,such as rice and vegetables. I don't care what you use it on, it's absolutely the most delicious concoction I've ever used on everything (although, I must admit, I haven't tried it on ice cream or cake! Just joking!) I'm so hooked, I plan to buy a case of it.

Not unlike a romantic retreat in the Serengheti with a voluptuous lover, this tuna will tentalize you and make you reassess your past preconceptions of what "smashing!" really means. The delicate olive oil blends with the creamy, buttery, proteiny tuna to create a climax of gastronomic nutting that will make you want to smoke a cigarette next to the empty can as soon as you're done with the ingestion. The olive oil and the tuna complement each other unlike any pair of anything in the universe ever. Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Jerry, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Sonny and Cher all pale in comparison to olive oil and tuna. I'm pretty sure that when the yin and yang was created, it was originally pink and light green to symbolize this gastronomic union. I eat this for breakfast, with my cereal; for lunch, with other tuna, and for dinner, with steak.
But seriously. It's really good. Buy it.

(More customer reviews)Everytime I visit Slough (UK) from the US I eat at Nando's. In fact, I eat there nearly everyday. Why? Well...the only other viable food choices in Slough are: spread meat sandwiches (with butter, sweet corn, free-range eggs, rocket, and mature cheese) at Amys (yuck!)..."unnamed" department store (made me sick)...or McDonalds/Burger King/Pizza Hut/Subway (I can get those down the street). But most importantly, it's the Peri Peri Sauce!
Though created for Nando's chicken, Peri Peri sauce is especially tastey as a dipping sauce for french fries. Thanks to Amazon.com, I can enjoy Peri Peri sauce everyday right here in the United States.
Warning: the "hot" is plenty hot enough. The extra hot is ridiculously hot!

(More customer reviews)I was completely blown away by the taste of these dishes. The chicken was extremely tender and tastey, as if it was fresh from the supermarket. You can't even compare these to any supermarket brand, such as Stouffer's. They aren't on the same level. Now I know why there is a satisfaction guarentee in each package.
The instructions allow you to either use a microwave or an oven. I used an oven.

(More customer reviews)The previous "Home-Style Creation" I had of MC didn't go over so well. Not only did it taste nothing like what it was supposed to, but afterwards it actually made me feel ill. It just didn't sit well. I was so apprehensive about eating the parmesan chicken that I honestly debated returning it to the store uneaten. But I ate it anyway for the sake of a review.
It didn't make me feel ill, but I was honestly underwhelmed by this. There wasn't that much chicken in the actual dish & while I don't honestly expect to get what I see on the packaging picture, I do expect to get at least some of the meat I'm supposed to. The parmesan flavor was "ok", but honestly... I've tasted better. It basically tasted like I opened a can of kid's parmesan pasta mix & upended it onto my food. It wasn't a bad flavor & I may get this again, but honestly I expected better.
Basically, this really didn't seem like it was that much better than those cups of cheese & macaroni that are out there & those are far cheaper. Some will really like this, but I was just let down by this meal. But hey... at least there was no gristle in this package like there was in the other MC meal.
