(More customer reviews)I purchased this slow cooker almost a year ago and have been very happy with it. I spent a good couple of weeks looking over reviews and asking family and friends for recommendations before I invested in a slow cooker - I wanted one that would last and I didn't need all of the fancy features that a lot of the newer models are offering.
This West Bend is easy to use, easy to clean, and (after almost a year) I've had no problems to speak of. The stainless steel look is great, the ceramic insert is nice and heavy, and the lid fits snugly. It does have a timer feature - which you can only set by the hour - which I would say is the only down side. There is a definite difference between the low and high heat settings. Personally I cook most things on low (it is a SLOW cooker), I only switch to high when I'm in a hurry or need to thicken up a stew or stroganoff. I've tried cooking a number of different things in this slow cooker and everything always comes out great!
It was definitely worth looking around and reading reviews on other appliances before I settled on this one. The price was right and it works wonderfully. I don't own any other West Bend products (I'm usually a KitchenAid girl) but this was definitely a good choice.
