I have two pans from different manufacturers, and while they're called 9" pans, they're both actually 9 3/8 inches in diameter when you include the lip. Add to that the fact that most crusts will extend beyond the edge of the lip a little, and this thing isn't nearly big enough. There's no way it can cover the edge of a pie crust, at least with my 9" pie pans. I guess I should have measured my pie pans before purchasing, but I assumed the manufacturer of this item would have some idea of the actual dimensions of pie pans and would size their product accordingly.
I'll try a shield advertised as 10" next.
