(More customer reviews)All right. I've been sucked into the hype. I now believe that the mainstream cat food we buy in supermarkets isn't the healthiest choice you can make regarding your cats' nutrition.
I bought this food and gradually introduced it into my cats' diet, and they have really taken to it. But then I ran out and had to go back to feeding Friskies. But don't worry, I've ordered more: which brings me to my ranting part of the review...
Why aren't premium cat foods more widely available to pet owners? Why tell everyone they have to feed their animals premium foods in order to give their animal a healthier diet, then hide the food from us by only making it available at elite stores or on the Internet? What about the people who live in small towns who don't have convenient access to the designer pet stores? My town doesn't even have a secular book store anymore. You think they have a PetSmart? Is it an impossibility to have quality food widely distributed?
Anyway, the cats like the Evolve, which is the most important thing, but I don't. It smells repugnant. Despite being a healthier brew, it has a very pungent smell that makes me nauseated. I don't know if it's the chicken broth or what, but I certainly try to hold my breath while dealing with the stuff. I've never had this experience with Friskies or Fancy Feast or any of the other "bad" cat foods. Therefore, I can't give it 5 stars; plus, it still contains grains although it is absent of the worst kind: corn, wheat and soy, plus non-nutritious by-products.
Maybe one day I'll know why even the reputable cat food companies like Evolve and Wellness still put worthless things like cranberries, peas and carrots in the food for obligate carnivores.
