(More customer reviews)I found Lefty's Spices to be a good product for frying fish and chicken. It is a multi-purpose product
which can be used on a variety of meats. The taste is extraordinary and makes a beautiful brown crust
on fried meat. I found that heating the cooking oil (I used peanut oil) to 340 degrees was to hot for my
meats. At 340 degrees the coating browned beyond what I desired and burned. I reduced the heat to 225-250
degrees and obtained perfect results for my style of cooking. I did notice that it was better not to stir
or turn meat portions until the coating browned some (a minute or so) which prevented coating from falling
off meat. It is a good idea that you remove any flakes from your fryer between removal of finished meat and
the introduction of a new battered product. This will prevent build up in the bottom of the fryer which will
cause the flakes to burn and ruin your oil and meat.
