(More customer reviews)I recently changed from Eukanueba Salmon to Halo Spot's Stew because the salmon ingredient in Eukaneuba continued to be further and further from the first. The brand changed their packaging and the recipe. I decided to try Spots Stew due to the all natural ingredients and because Salmon being the first ingredient. Second ingredient is Pea Protein. Now, I don't know what that knumbskull is talking about in the prior comment, but pea protein is NOT bad for your health. Much like protein powder supplements that a body builder would consume, pea protein is an alternative to the whey protein which is high in gluten. Wheat Gluten breaks down into yeast and is an inflammatory in humans (can make you fat) and deadly for celiac disease patients. Pea protein is rich in amino acid and IS free of genetically modified organisms (GMO) which is recommended for gluten sensitive patients. Lastly, pea protein does extend the limits of protein content. It is difficult to tell the percentage of salmon to pea protein ratio. Salmon is an expensive product as it is, so I can see where Halo would use a supplement to boost the protein content. I would rather they extend the protein content than to advertise as a salmon product and have chicken and chicken by products as the first 4 ingredients. There really isn't much of a difference between what Eukaneuba and Halo are doing, they're just using different ingredients.
I wish people would get their facts straight. If you don't believe me, look it up the benefits of Pea Protein.
Anyway, my cat's L.O.V.E. Halo Spot's Stew! My boy cat would spit out a lot of the Eukaneuba and waste a lot of it. I can HONESTLY say that all 3 of my cat's eat all their kibble and are very happy!
