(More customer reviews)This product is basically the spices that you would put into pho broth if you were making it from scratch. You use this instead of going out to the market looking for whole spices. Each box contains 4 spice pouches (basically big tea bags). You use it by cooking up some plain chicken broth or stock and adding the tea bag to the cooking broth. After it's steeped for a while you can taste to see if the spice is strong enough for you, if not, leave it in longer. Once you're done with it, you just remove it from the broth. I like it much better than the powdered mixes, because I find that they are usually much too sweet and/or salty for my taste without providing enough spice. It also allows you to control how weak or strong of broth you use. I really liked the pho broth that resulted from this and highly recommend it.
