(More customer reviews)Very similar to Con-Agra's Healthy Choice line ( as expected, same firm makes this), and nice to have around in your desk for a speedy lunch. As with the other products it is ready in about 3.5 minutes, plus another 20 seconds or so for the sauce.
Very JETSONS style prep, cook the pasta in the microwave, drain ( with included strainer) add sauce and you are good to go.
Things do go a bit downhill with the "mini meatballs", I think. They are tiny round kibble like things made of pork/beef and bread- not pleasing to the eye, and taste just so-so. The sauce itself is pleasing,a good mix of sweet and spicy.
A quick and easy fix, or add on is to add some shredded Parm/Romano to the top of the product after you have mixed it up ( not the grated kind, the shredded- easy to find, lasts forever).
I can easily imagine this product being used by office workers, college types and seniors ( who frequently do not eat well!). GREAT "care package" gift, that would be appreciated. Far better price here, than in traditional stores.
For what it is worth, the packaging is so nice ( as with it's Healthy Choice sibling), that frugal types may well contemplate saving it.
I admit, I once did see what would happen if I put the strainer and bowl in a dishwasher, and they came out fine. Added some mini noodles (ziti I think, from Barella) and a spritz of olive oil. Added in a well known "cheese product" ( starts with a "V") after draining. Super fine Mac and Cheese!
I certainly would not re-use the package much( maybe once), and never the sauce container part, but I just wanted to see .. A far better choice for at home experiments is the Fasta Pasta unit, frequently available on Amazon.
All in all, this is a good product. I dont think the meatball component has been perfected, but this is a very NEW brand. Give it a try.

McLib's Southern Dumplings, 10-Pound Boxes Review

(More customer reviews)I love the taste of the hand-made-from-scratch dumplings my grandma made me when I was growing up. She was the best cook I have ever known. I have been trying to recreate her recipe for years with limited success, until I found McLib's Southern Dumplings.
These taste just like grandma's dumplings and now all my cousins are wondering how I got the recipe. One cousin kidded me and suggested I used one of those Ouija boards to talk to Gran. Of course, I didn't. I used the recipe that is on the back of every box of dumplings. The 15 minute Chicken and Dumpling is my favorite, while the rest of my family loves the recipe for McLib's Southern Style Lasagna that is also on the box. There are more recipes on the mclibs.com that I use including one for a great cobbler that we take to all the church socials.
If you never had hand-made dumplings do not dispair; McLib's Southern Dumplings are easy to cook and taste exactly like the ones that take hours to make by hand. I get the credit and McLib's does the work.
