(More customer reviews)I started buying this product for my rescue kitty after the Iams recall, due to finding melamine in the wheat gluten of some of their wet food products. My veterinarian, and I, believe cats need a balanced diet of wet & dry foods, but to my surprise MANY wet cat foods contain wheat gluten. Sheba is one of few brands that does not . . . read the label . . it's all meat with a tapioca filler; tapioca is typically derived from rice. My baby girl will be five-years-old this year and she LOVES her Sheba!!! She gets one dome-can for dinner, and 1/2 cup high-quality dry kibble Hill's Science Diet Adult Indoor Cat Food for breakfast. I got her from a shelter and she was 7yrs. old at the time and for one year I cooked her chicken breasts because she wouldn't eat anything else and then a vet suggested this cat food and it took a few days but she finally would eat it. I tried everything and now this food is being discontinued and I don't know what I am going to do. Any suggestions? I am glad that a friend suggested that i try Amazon.com.
