(More customer reviews)Be warned, the chicken flavor has bright red coloring mixed in with the basted flavor. I gave this bone to my sheltie (white paws, white chin & chest fur) on a blanket to keep the dye off the carpet. I looked over at her a few minutes later to see how she was doing, and she certainly did love the chicken flavor, she was chewing with gusto.
*However*, she looked like a murderer who had just messily hacked someone to death. Seriously, and it only took a few minutes for her to look like this. Bold red coloring all over her paws, up her front legs, and all over her long chest fur, along with a little red staining the fur on the sides of her mouth. It even stained the fur between her foot pads because of the way she holds the bone in her paws, and if I didn't have dark brown carpet, that red dye would've been tracked all over as I led her into the kitchen for cleanup. I promptly wiped her down with a lot of baby wipes and got most of it off, except for some faint red areas. A day later, today, you can barely tell. *whew*, thank goodness.
So, because of stupid stupid coloring that companies use on dog products even though my dog certainly doesn't care what color her rawhide bone is, that's why I've knocked 2 stars off. Really, for MY dog, I'd give it one star only, but I suppose this rawhide bone will be just fine for folks who have black dogs who eat their rawhide bones outside, far far away from any light colored carpet.
I'll be sticking with the lamb & rice flavor, as it only has a very pale coloring added to the flavoring.

My only complaint about this bone is that it left a mess on the floor; the red color of the bone rubs onto the floor. It did wipe up fairly easily. Just make sure when you give the bone to your dog he's not eating it on a carpeted floor.

I did shop around and the price from this seller seemed to be the best, especially when taking into account shipping costs. This product would have gotten five stars from me were it not for the cost per chew.

Dingo Ringo 3-Pack, 4.2-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)My sheltie was starting to snub rawhide bones, even the flavored ones, and I was trying to find a chew she'd like as she can always use something to clean her teeth. I'd seen the Dingo bones before, but the bright red chicken jerky turned me off. Well, now I was willing to try anything. I first gave her a Dingo Dyno Stix, and watched her devour it over the course of a half hour. She meticulously pulled it apart and ate it until she'd gotten every last bit of chicken jerky. Only part of the innermost bit of rawhide remained. Success!
So, she'd had a couple Dyno Stix, so to mix it up I gave her a Dingo Ringo. More success! She loved the ring shape, and it took her about 45 minutes to get all the chicken jerky out, so it was a bit more difficult for her to get the jerky than it was in the Dyno Stix. However, once she'd gotten all the jerky out of the Ringo, more rawhide remained behind that she didn't eat. I tossed it in the trash. Despite more rawhide left behind, my dog still had a great time chewing on the Ringo, and I'll continue to buy them. Also, they're a good single serving size for my sheltie. However, if you have an 80 lb lab, these are probably too small, posing a choking hazard for a dog who likes to "gulp".
For those wondering how big my dog is, she's a 30 lb sheltie, to give you a better idea of how long it might take your dog to eat a Dingo Ringo.

My miniature schnauzer never really took a liking to chewing on things for a long time so these are a good size and make me feel better that they limit how much she can eat. However, they are expensive compared to other dog treats and after our dogs have chewed out the meat filling, they leave the rawhide cover on the floor and beg for another Dingo even though they haven't finished the first one. Pig Ears seem to be a better value for the money because the dogs eat the entire treat and end up spending more time exercising their teeth. I'll save the Dingos for very special occasions.
